Thread: Is chef for me?
Its hard to say, chef is a very off the wall profession I think.... many of the chefs who stick with it tend to enjoy the roleplaying aspect of chefing.
Right now is a difficult time for chefs as most people are anxious to get the new changes live but also nervous about what exactly the revamp holds for us. It is also a fairly demanding profession I find.
If you want to just have fun, make cool looking things, provide a service to people, socialise and generally have some fun, then its a good profession to choose. To take chefing more seriously however, is very time consuming, space consuming and lot consuming. With the new revamp, we have to harvest even more resources and they need to be high quality ones. With all this harvesting comes storage space required to keep them... Also you will probably find yourself needing multiple factories... throw in a cantina and thats another 5 lots... if you want a shop seperate to the cantina thats another 2 lots... and the list goes on. Most chefs either have multiple accounts or have the use of friends or guildees lot spaces.
I think it's always worth dabbling in a profession that interests you, it may be the one that makes you want to stop dabbling anymore But just be prepared that chef isnt a walk in the park as crafting professions go, there are easier ones
However if you're the type who can get excited about the prospect of decorating and running a restaurant and playing the ever busy chef then personally I think you will enjoy it
Plus the chef boards are full of useful information to get you started.

Remember also if you want your own vendor you need to go to minimum of business 3 and maybe higher given the new merchant changes...

But won't i also need Engineer 3, so i can have my own harvesters(am im gonna need that as a chef?)
Maybe, chefs dont need as much resources as an architect who is going to build a guild hall?
Well.. Thats a hard one!
I guss i could give up Master brawler But then no lunge2 for me(2m knockdown ) and then i will be pretty useless for PVP
But what if i did:
Business 3 and Survey 3??? Would that work, or would i need survey 4, to be a good surveyer?:0

. I meant to forget engineering III. But you really should take buisness III. Novice merchant would be nice since you can put up an NPC (alien) vendor but it is not necessary.
