I am new to the profession- and NOT because of a Holocron, which I do not have, nor care to open.

Why doesnt ANYBODY read one of the THREE sticky threads, which without having 100 topics on how go grind yadayadayada, open your eyes and SEE for YOURSELF.

Every single Profession has a sticky with the info that you need.

Could be that the entire chef line changed last patch so most of that info is invalid. Most of us new chefs have no idea what is valid anymore.

Again they babble incoherently without reading, you people are so dim. Are you that stupid?

It specifically stated when the guide is for and yes it is updated, but you wouldn't know since youSTILL never went and read it, you would rather post on how helpless you are, hey gimme your home address and we can all come play your character for you, that way you dont have to do anything at all except post here.

Ouch some bitterness in this post LOL!!! I would recomment getting dessert I i believe it is (i would check just to be sure) and make pastebread. Gives you about 172 xp or something like that with practice and it only used 20 wheat, 10 oats, and 10 water. I understand where you guys are coming from that are asking for help but not everyone as you can see is interested in helping those who ask nicely for it... Anyway, have fun and good chefing! /salute

Mylo I think has been in the kitchen too long.

Anyways, do you get xp for the creation of glasses? If so, is it better to make glasses for a grind because it only takes gemstone?

no xp for glasses.. well, no chef xp. i think you get general crafting, since it's in the domestic arts line of artisan.

i'm grinding on synthsteaks, personally. more xp than pastebread, but it takes hides.

I'm Novice chef and use "Soybread" for grinding.
It's pretty quick (gives you around 80-90 XP / practice mode - but not totally sure) and you need 2 ressources: beans and wheat.

This is what i do to grind as fast as possible:

1) Select food crafting tool
2) Select soybread schematic
3) Next screen: doubleclick the 2 ressources
4) Hammer on "Enter" to go past all the "Yes/No" screens

I have 5 crafting tools in my inventory, so i can start crafting again with another tool while the other tools output to the hopper.

Hope this helps ;-)

Since this patch I have only gotten xp off soypro and Air Cakes because the chef profession xp is bugged and the Dev havent fixed it yet in the course of the week since the patch came out.

I have asked consumer service and they told me to craft "more advanced" food...

It's weird isn't it?
Why is it called food XP then?

We should get XP for crafting food and not for crafting umbrellas...

You can turn off the "yes/no" propts in the options... Makes crafting more berable.
