I just did some testing on the milk issue, and while an improvement, it's probably not quite what we were all hoping for. At the very least, I got 104 units, which is admittedly much better than 54 units; at most I got 194 units (or thereabouts - it was over 190 and under 200). This netted over 1k of milk from driving around Dant looking for pikets for 15 minutes, so overall, it's not bad. It's definitely not a 100% overall increase on the amount we used to be able to harvest though, so I don't think we'll see double stacks of 100 from milking anything, but Dant is the only planet I've tried so far, so who knows. Maybe they've made the other creatures more productive. And yes, we still need to stack the milk by hand.
Also, neat new stuff...sort of. I logged on and did a double take when I looked toward my kitchen. Where my ugly little creature recycler once stood was something new. They finally changed the graphics for the recyclers to appear as they did in the photos they originally showed us.

generating 4-5k milk/hour is considered an improvement? That's just silly.
Here's my test results:
It took me 14 minutes to successfully milk 8 creatures (Bantha Matriarch lair). This was largely due to the same old issues that have always made milk gathering suck:
Creatures warping 100m away while you're milking them.
Creatures warping 20m into the air and hovering.
Seemingly sedate creatures running off like someone just blasted them in the ass, despite my having "relaxed" the creature.
Milk still fails to stack itself.
Milk result is still uneffected by creature harvest skill.
Twice received the "the creature has moved too far away" message while my target was laying at my feet.
/harvest milk is still disabled (regardless of creature having been milked live).
In short, milking is still something no sane person would consider. Scouts/Rangers can still make far more money with far less headache by harvesting whatever the current uber avian/herbivore/wooly spawn is.

Is there a bonus to getting milk and being in a group now? Since you two can't both harvest the same creatures, how did the two of you manage so much?

Yes- 20% BONUS for harvesting in a group, together, and also a 40% bonus for having a ranger in your group (and within 64m, I believe)

Yeah, that's what I was asking too. Milk harvesting has always seemed like a different animal, so to speak, than regular creature harvesting. I was going to go out and try it, but evidently, as soon as you're "on leave" now, you can't hit any NPCs, so I was getting aggroed left and right without being able to kill anything, and they refuse to peace out, so I kept having to run into town. I'll give it another shot when my patience hasn't run so thin.
Edit: Tested it and it doesn't seem to give a bonus. It seems there's an average of about 140 units from picket longhorn females, but I was with my ranger friend (non-master) and she was the one milking, so I don't know if it makes a difference who's doing the milking. Maybe if I were to milk I would get more because the ranger was with me, but that wouldn't make much sense to get more milk than a ranger, even though they have no milking bonuses as it stands.

Hmm..I tested it on Bolle Bols and got 140 units average alone...brought a friend and got 160 average...maybe just acoincidence. Either way I still need to get a recycler lol

what kind of recyclers does it take to recycle milk?
That would be a creature recycler.
I almost have all the components to make one. Just need to find an agitator motor schematic, but they're as rare as hens teeth.

spent a 2 and half hour on dantoonie doing some milking with a full buff, was able to collect 20k of it. milking speed up if you are able to bring a friend with and each of you milk the creature, then kill it and repeat.
and most of teh time your friend will give you the milk he collected, also you can get more milk out of a lair by getting into a solo group so that your able to take piket mission where instaed of having only 3 piket pet tap, you get 5 pikets.
just a tip if non of you know of it. plus if you hunt with a friend that 4 lair that you can hunt and milk from before heading back to get more mission.
hope this helps.
