Thread: Oh goodness those poor DE's...Hope chef isnt next.

This is the link to a bit of prematurely released info from one of the DE's that snuck into the Corr. Boards last week.
Poor DE's. Doesnt look good for them.
Crossing my fingers that the chef revamp goes through and smooth.
Looks like an example of "You will like what we give you"
I mean I love the idea of having Battle Droids and Droidekas but if 85% of the droid community doesn't want the changes why are the devs pushing them ahead. I hope they don't pull that garbage here.
After all I though the game was funded by the players who play the game and in the past 5 month the game has really seen a lot of players leave (I would like to see an Astro Mech stats on that one), guess I was mistaken. The devs seem to have found some other funding. ![]()
So if Creature Handlers are P o k e m o n
does that mean that Droid Engoineers will become M e d a b o t s ? (for those who don't know it is a cartoonlike p o k em o n that uses robots instead of monsters)
Finally, someone who has the same level of respect for the devs/designers as I do... All their "great" ideas generally turn into crap -- and their "promises" of getting crap fix turn into a half assed attempt... Gee DE was sposta be fixed.... and now they might get combat modules in a few weeks (or they may have them now, I dunno).
Maybe That's why I'm still harving loads of steel as a master chef. Maybe thats why I'm so **edit** skeptical about all the "glorious changes" that chef is supposed to be getting. Straight up, SOE rarely gets the job done on time, and if it IS on time, looks for some major disappointment / bugs to ruin it for you..
Can I get an Amen Domynion.
The devs are going to do what the devs feel like doing nomatter how angry or upset we as the players get with their choices. I just got tired of yelling at the wind everytime the chef patch was late so I don't care anymore, it will get here when it gets here.
I agree with their always being late in their updates but I admittedly know squat about the computer industry so I can't really complain cause I don't know what they are running into.

One thing to notice...they are no longer calling it January's patch. They are calling it publish #6. We are deffinitely getting our revamp in the next publish. Wether that revamp will come out in January....at this point I am actually hoping it won't because I want this to have time on the test center before going live.
As for going smoothly, well, here's to hoping. I am already thinking of ways to collect the bugs and get them to the devs as soon as possible. I don't think it's a question of wether or not there will be bugs, but how many and how severe. This is not putting down the developers, this is just acceptance of the fact they are imperfect humans working in an insanely complex system while trying to meet some sort of deadlines to make their bosses happy.
Here is to hoping the bugs are few and only minor.
Oh, yeah, when I read that I wasn't so much worried if the chefs would be next...I am more worried about negative backlash that we are getting love and some other professions that really need it are not.

Well, TH and Vandessa already have a system in place for people to report bugs they find on TC. Every day a thread is started explicitly for posting bugs, and TH reads them daily and submits an organized list to the Devs. Unfortunately that system works only so far as getting the info to TH. The process beyond that is our of our control. TC has spent months trying to figure out a way to improve the process since TC seems to get blamed for many of the bugs that go live, but the fact of the matter is that the bugs *are* reported...the Devs prioritize and decide which ones to fix before pushing the patch.
Just wanted to give you some background so you know how things work now, and what you're up against :-) I for one plan on manually crafting 4 copies of each food, and focus my efforts on the crafting side of things since anyone can test eating them. Starting from Master and working down since I think we have less than 5 Masters on TC.
