Thread: Have any master chefs noticed this?
The stations that are in cities will not do, but those players place in player cities will, as they are crafted.
Grr, chef grinders..
Anyhow, yes, private crafting stations [the kind you can buy and drop in your house] are best, period. Each one has a rating to it [under /examine] that shows it's efficiency bonus, the higher the better. The one +30 and better tend to be rare and pricy, though. Private ones will show all the schematics you can make in their respective item type.
The public ones are good, but not as good. Save some creds and grab one, you'll be happy you did.
Another thing you might want to look at is the crafting station itself.
I bought a high rating food and chem station months ago for a PA building, then when I hit Master Chef a couple of weeks ago, I tried to use the station with my crafting tool, and it wouldn't bring up any schematics that required a food and chem tool ! (I wasn't outside the radius either).
When I went to a friends hosue and used his station it worked fine! veeery weird.
If you place stations right next to each other, you only get the benifit of the one you are closest to. So if you have a general station right next to it, you might be standing in the wrong place. If that isnt it, you need to /bug it, it's broken.

How pricey? Are we talking 100,000... 500,000.... over a million?

Considering that those are master chef recipes, it shouldn't be too astonishing. I am sure there was a first time you made your master chef recipes, Saitek. If I'd asked a question about how to make Bivoli Tempari, I'd see your point.
1) I didn't have an issue with a personalized Crafting station.
2) I DO get questions about low level foods from "Master" Chefs.
It'll depend on your server and the individual architect, but probably 50-75k, maybe a bit higher. I doubt you'll have to spend more than 100k.
