Thread: 12 point chefs how did you do it? (Number of clothing items, etc.)

I'm guessing that the Food Experimentation needs to be +20 total to get the 2 extra points == 12 point chef? I've read that it costs around 30 Mill to acquire all that.
How many items of clothing are your points spread over?
Is there some specific piece of Chef wear that everyone goes for? (Hat? Apron?)
Did you not care what clothes you threw it into as long as the points stacked?
(My wife has a new account and is developing a Chef/Merchant/Artisan and I just know she's going to want those extra points once she masters...)

1. get the Apron. That is +5 right there.
2. What race is she? Certain races dont wear certian items.
3. Is here toon a chick as well? Some items are not useable to males/females.
Never a four.
5. No it dont cost 30 mill. Guildmate gave me the apron. A long time friend gave me a +2 and I bought a +7 for 11 mill. Got some auctions going for my few points, so its all about who ya know.

I wear 5 pices.. a apron +9 tuskin boots and 6 more points in 3 other items : )
cost me about 9 - 12 million total..but this was a very long time ago........months b 4 the chef revamp : )

You might be able to squeak it out for 30mil. Now that Chef is a popular crafting profession, the skill tapes are in higher demand. I have not seen a tape or looted peice of clothing go for less than 1mil a point for a long long time. well... never actually, except for +1's. Luckily you can get the +5 from the Crafters Apron for pretty cheap.
For example, there was just an auction for a +13 Food exp tape on my server. It ended at 20 mil. This is a very nice item of course. Basically though, just try to get as many points as you can in the least number of tapes/clothing items. If you only get +1, +2's your gonna run out of clothing items real fast.
Things I learned along the way of making my suit:
1. You can wear a bandolier/Rank Sash with the Chef Crafters Apron.
2. You can't put an SEA on a backpack.

On certain servers, the cost of the tapes has crashed. I've seen a lot more +20 exp suits for sale in the last month or so than I've ever seen before. On tempest at least, I think it is rare these go for more than 15 million.
My +20 cost right around 30 million I would guess with the last +6 costing 18 million on its own(I just wanted to get it over with 
).
).I did it with 5 pieces. I still could use a belt and a sholderstrap if I wanted to.

My chef wears an all white chef's outfit with a chef's hat, apron, shirt, pants, boots, and gloves. I bought the cheesy chef outfit and had the tapes waiting and placement planned, but I was fortunate enough to start with a +12 and an apron, so only had to get 3 more singles to complete the +20.
Hat +1
Shirt + 1
Apron +5
Pants +1
Gloves +12
Boots +0
If you're looking to compare prices and find out costs, there is an auction for a +19 food experimentation tape on Intrepid at the moment. It's the onlyhigh +food exp tape auction that hasn't been bought out instantly in over 3 months. The buyout is 40 million. There have been zero full suits for sale and most tapes, even singles, sell immediately for over a million per point.

A +8 Food Exp. tape just sold on Chimaera for 25 Million *gulps*
Looks like it'll be a while before my beloved gets her +20 clothing
I'd better figure out where these tapes drop and start going hunting a lot.

Dath - I like Protectors, Outcasts, sentries, sentinels, rancor tamers...all the moderate level stuff that you can mow through really quickly. Seems elders are pretty much on the same loot tables as everything else, so I go for them occasionally, but I truly haven't found a big difference. My +12 was from a Protector. A friend looted a +18 armor experimentation from a Rancor Tamer. All in your luck and how much you increase your odds - e.g. how many 100 NSs you mow through.

The very reason I am becoming a full time Chef is because I lucked out and got some great deals on my food experimentation CA's. I bought out a +4 tape for 1 million credits, yes 1 MILLION CREDITS (see if PAYS to troll your galaxy trade forum all day at work), already had a crafting apron for another +5,got another +5 CA for FREE from a guildmate (needless to say, she gets free food for LIFE). I got the last +6 for relatively cheap as well but I don't remember the exact details of how it went down. Long story short, I got my +20 within a week and for less than 10 million... best luck I've ever had in SWG!

All I have is my Apron thats +5 and a +17 CA one of my guildmates looted from Nyax. We also found a +10 tape on the corvette.

+9exp tusken boots
+4exp gloves
+6exp shirt
+4exp pants.
This set is probably 7 months old. I got it for free from a friend that stopped playing, but it cost him around25 million. There is also +24 assembly (which is of varying usefulness) and also +19 artisan assembly. The boots are +14 to chef'sassembly, and +12 artisan exp.

I have +20 food experimentation, +21 food assembly spread over 7 pieces of clothing, all for less than 8 mil total
