Thread: Orske's Current Best Resources for Chefs
I have a tool I use for shipwrights, that I've recently made some chef data for, which I think is complete, but am unsure as I'm not a chef. So check THIS LINK out.
let me know if you have questions!

Orske's Current Best Resources
As I came up with the data myself, some from SWGCraft, some from other areas, so it may be out of date, just point me in the right direction.
I also have Armorsmith, Weaponsmith, and a limited Artisan data set available for use.
So you know, it takes the current set of resources from SWGCraft for your server, compares them to your chosen crafting professions' schematics required resources and stats, and computes the current 'best' resource for you to use (hence the obvious name, heh).
The tool takes gates and caps into effect, but most of the ones that can't be programmatically found I've been hard-coding in (e.g., using a named steel in a generic 'metal' slot), and am currently unaware of most (if any exist) gates for 'organic' resource groupings. If you notice inconsistencies, let me know, and I'll get them fixed right away.
Also, I apologize for the size of the 'food' menu, but it's not my fault there's so many types of food and they each require different stats for experimentation, heh. Just take a look, let me know if you find it worthwhile, I hope so. Have fun!

Thanks. So ya'll know, I *am* looking into historical resource data, but I have no way of getting that information (SWGCraft does not allow downloads of historical data, only current data). I emailed Trokk over there to see if I can get a zipped flat DB dump, but no response yet.
Let me know if you see inconsistencies, or you have ideas that would make the tool easier to use. I plan on implementing a 'help' feature, as there's quite a bit of data thrown at you (especially if you choose 'show all', heh)--but most of the data *should* be fairly obvious to long-term crafters...and if you're not a long-term crafter, and have no clue what's going on, just get the resource[s] listed as best

Orske, the more I use this tool the more I like it. It is intuative, fast and so user friendly it's untrue. I hope you dont mind but I have put a link up in my guild forumbecause we got a SW, AS, WS and more than a few MArts.
Oh, and I haven't found any inconsistancies yet.In fact apart from 1 Tat resource that appears to have despawned everything else seems to be bang up to date.
Thanks again m8 ![]()

Glad to hear it! And link to it all you want. My next two profs I'm adding are architect and DE probably, so hope to have those up there soon.
Bump for an awesome tool
hehe my guild leader has a MSW / MDE - he will be pleased when i tell him the news ![]()

Heh, perhaps I should get MDE done then
Got busy at work again, sometimes I run across downtime, which is when I usually work on this. Don't see that happening for...oh, at least a week. "Further bulletins as events warrant!" (<-- one of my favorite Calvin and Hobbes quotes)

Fabuloustool! Hope Trokk gets you the archive![]()
Only thing I noticed is that it isn't pulling over the Fungi for some reason. One to use for testing database pull is Accarragm for Kettemoor. The abbreviation appears correctand there are a number of current fungi spawns listed on SWGCraft.

Good catch! 'Twas an error with windows end-of-line characters, and then 'nix end-of-line chars that I didn't account for. A little dos2unix, a little chomping, and it's all fixed!
Basically, it should (and does) work now. Glad you caught that, it was not only failing on Fungi, but on Greens, and probably a few more that were 'right at the end of the line' where I do some groupings. Thanks!

Sorry, I can not seem to find the post where they are displayed. One for example is Bespin Port where nutrition is supposedly 50% DR and 50% OQ when it actually is PE and OQ and probably PE 66% OQ 33%.I'm not 100% sure but I think all of our foods use nutrition at PE 66% OQ 33%.If someone knows the bug/issue post for this please comment. Not a biggie but it would be nice if the Artisan foods were also included in the chef section of your site.Other than that this is a friggin awesome tool.Thank you very much.BuffaloMaster Chef - Gorath
if you find out for certain, let me know. I'm not a chef, so I can't get that information myself easily (I believe I pulled it from fooman's tool off swgcraft forums). Any errrors in using wrong stats or the wrong percentages are actually very simple to fix, I just need the correct numbers and stats to fix it
