Thread: Carbine speed?

If I drop Novice Doctor and Master Medic, I will have enough skill points to climb the Carbine speed tree. My question is how much difference does the +25 to speed make? What speed would it make a 3.4 delay Elite carbine? Thanks.

It will be 25% faster.

3.4 sec reload will be 2.55 reload. In 10 seconds, you will fire roughly 4 times with the speed increase and 3 times without it.

Don't forget to factor in the speed from the marksman carbine line, too. But yes, each point of carbine speed reduces the weapon speed by 1% of the base speed.

It will help your speed significantly.

However, I don't know if I would give up being a Doctor to increase your carbine abilities... a Master Carbineer/BH Carbine 4 _IS_ master of the carbine, but the Master Carbineer/Master Doctor will kick his arse 8 times out of 10 due to buffs and healing.

Hiya guys and girls - I was just wondreing when shooting with carabine what carabines do you use and how often can you shoot - you can turn on an option to tell you the exact time you shoot at so you can see if you shoot every second or every 2 and so on

BTW I'm using 3.4 speed carabine and I notices I'm hitting every 4 seconds at master carabineer level - isn't that a litte bit slow ? With burst and fullaut I'm getting speeds of 3 seconds - while at the same time I've seen a guy use a rifle at a krayt dragon and using conceal shot he was hitting every second - is this normal - I know there isn't any other professions that give bonuses to rifle like pistol and carabine and rifles are not that faster than carabines - especially heavy ones that can hit krayt dragon for 500 or so.

Are we the slowest shooting profession out there - well unless you couple this with BH I guess

Anyway - give me your guns speeds and especially what you use in PvP?

SOJ is looking into why our speed mods are so slow and trying to convience the Devs to increase it so at the Master level we actually shoot for every second like the pistoleers and riflemen do.

Yes, current without any other profession. Master Pistoleer, Master Rifleman and Master Carbineer... we're the slowest out of the three.

Pistols don't need high +speed and can easily cap with their +75 to speed. Riflemen can hit the cap anywhere between +80 - +90 speed, which they can do so at master riflemen. We, however, cannot cap unless we use a DH17 or a weapon around 2.5 speed which is commonly the DH17.

i have a laser and a drx6, both sliced for speed and both at exactly 2.5. they might might hit the cap on autofire, but when i start doing specials, i'm still really slow. if you really need speed, you'll have to get speed powerups.

also... since regular carbineers (non-BH) can't hit the cap, i've found that a speed sliced carbine has a higher DPS than a damage sliced carbine. (assume 30% slices)

Ok this is from a BH carbineer and a master carbineer. I have a 3.6 elite carbine and i noticed that for every four regualer shots i take my storm commando takes one. Now i switched out my carbine with a 2.5 speed elite carbine and it was still the same amount. 4 shots for every one of the stormcommandos. i didnt notice when i hit this cap but i can say for sure that our speed cap is kinda messed. With the 2.5 elite i should with all of my speed mods be hitting at least 6 times for every one of the storm commandos shots. Also the storm commandos attack speed is suppose to be 2.0. that is my two cents.

I felt finallyI could get my hands on everything in the world that didn't work.

I think I figured out why our speed modifier is so low at master carbineer. Its a typo, plain and simple.

At release, the carbine skills in the marksman profession listed the speed bonus and then the accuracy bonus. The pistol and rifle skills have always listed accuracy and then speed. One of the patches changed the display so that all skill modifiers are now listed in alphabetical order. Now take a look at the master boxes on pistoleer, rifleman, and carbineer. Pistoleer and rifleman both have +10 accuracy and +20 speed at master while carbineer has +20 accuracy and +10 speed. Since our skill modifiers used to be displayed different, we received the skill mods at master in the wrong spot. We are probably supposed to have +20 speed and +10 accuracy at master just like the other two ranged professions.

That's an interesting observation. It would certainly be cool if we had +70 speed instead of the paltry +60 that wehave now.

One thing that I never realized until recently is if you loot a CorSec troop, some drop+3 carbine speed boots. Not bad if you're hurting for speed like I am.
