I finally found a way to reduce the HAM costs of Carbine specials. Action powerups! I only discovered them a few weeks ago...and wow. The ones I'm using offer a 32% Action, 12% Health reduction of HAM costs. Now, I had my laser sliced for damage (50 to 360 damage) and I can almost spam the specials.

I buy these powerups by the crate, and have found them for a little as 1000cr per crate (of 10).

If you have not tried these...try them! It made quite a differance for me!

The only problem i have with powerups is that they drain the weapon's condition dramatically. Getting another Carbine isn't a problem, but we all know you have to get it sliced to be as effective as you need it to be. Finding a trustworthy slicer is a task just in itself. So, instead of plowing through your weapon's condition using powerups, try using food instead. Food will reduce your HAM costs just as much, but without the condition drain.

Its times like this I am happy that 1) I am a master weaponsmith (create my own weapons and powerups) and 2)my RL brother is a slicer who lives two doors down from me.

Here is how I can spamm crippling shot al day long:

600 health, 600 str, 550 Con 600 Action, 650 Stamina 500 quickness 400 mind 600 focus 400 willpower.

I basically just killed off the HAM costs by beefing up str, sta, and focus. I don't see how anyone can whine about the specials heavy HAM costs if they did that. The only special I can't spam is FA2.

actually a doc buff is all you need - stamina and quickness - nothing more 2k for 2 h

Unfortunately, I believe, that only a human could put together that particular stat template. Stat restraints are too tight on non-humans to be able to put that together. Possibly someone other than human could pull it off but it's hardly a universal fix. I'd be thrilled if I could get just my stamina or quickness either one as high as you have listed.

I appreciate the food suggestion. I find it somewhat difficult to find crates of decent food (on Corbantis). Spice has its place, but I prefer not to use it. I using Bofa treats right now, not a whole lot of help, but they double has pet food

What kind of food or drink do you guys prefer? maybe it's time to find the right crafter!

The stat change, I also find interesting. Although I had already adjusted my stats, I havent taken my str, stam, and focus to 600. I gonna try this starting tonight. I have a macro to switch from Composite to clothes quickly. I also have Medic 3-3-4-0, more than enough to heal myself and my pets with the proper stimpacks.

And yes, these action powerups tear up my laser carbines. I buy 3 or 4 at a time and get them all sliced at the same time, using the damage sliced ones. I get a week and a half, maybe two weeks before the Carbine starts to see weakness. I destroy lairs with a EE3, to reduce the wear on the Laser.

Of course my "secret" is that I'm almost a Master CH and Master Carbineer, so I usually have the time to engage mutliple targets, and heal myself as needed. I have found using these action powerups, I have reduced my self heals considerably (maybe 40%) using the same specials. Where it gets kinda crazy is when I have the Composite equiped ( when I take agro ). Still the trick for me is to only wear armor only as long as I am taking damage, to be switched as soon as I get the agro off of me (usually using a pet attack).

have em in my hot bar i take before battle and munch on em durring.

Although I wish to all the can change things.. Charge shot 2.. maybe just make it area dizzy since obviously area knock down can't be placed in or it would have.

use 1 breath of heaven, it's +600 to str/quickness/focus, then eat 2 ryshcake. each of them are +300 to str/quickness/focus.

the master chef I contacted, make me 22 use breath of heaven, i brought 4x25crate. so it's 2200 uses, and the ryshcake is 12 uses, I got 2x25 crate so it's around 600 uses, my foods are higher stats than what I posted, after I eat all 3, I have +1400 to my Str/quickness/focus.. self buff to 1800 stats in those category last around 5 minute per use, all the special are cost 0.
