Nym's Slug Thrower on a whim. litterally, i was in a shop and the person had like 20 on their vendor, so i just off-handedly picked one up. i had NO intention of ever using it, but it just looked so dang cool. that was tuesday or wednesday
so this morning, i picked the thing up with my Alt character (i had intended on going Master Combat Medic / Master Rifleman with the alt) and noticed i was not certified for it, but there was no '..damage will be greatly reduced.' message. i found out that you DON'T HAVE to be certified to use it, so i started running around just sort of testing it out. well now i am just sort of Carbines IV and i am LOVING the weapon. i was not "Power Gaming". i had a staff meeting for my work today (yes on a SUNDAY :smileysad
and have had some other things to do, yet i am already near the top of the Marksman Carbine tree. this is the fastest i have climbed ANY of the marksman trees, and by far the most fun i have had doing it (love the sound the gun makes)
i have been poking around here in the carbineer forum for the first time ever. i have been reading for about an hour and have some questions for you all if you will.
i know Master Combat Medic / Master Rifleman is the "Uber l33t" PvP profession right now, but i could care less. i RARELY ever PvP i am 99.9% PvE. i was wondering what you all thought of the Master Combat Medic / Master Carbineer combination?
with MCM i can make and throw Action Bs and Cs then AoE Bs and Cs and then add in the carbine specials (though i have QUICKLY learned why the Carbineer moto is "bet i can kill me before you can kill me). with all of the concentraition on ONE pool, i was thinking this could be nearly as effective in PvE as Rifleman/ CM attacks on the mind pool...?
i have mastered Combat Medic before, and i have gotten as far as 3/2/3/2 in Rifleman (though the grind is sooooo long that i could not finish at the time) and i just don't really want to have to go through the slow grind up rifleman again. i am really enjoying carbine at the moment, and even though i am reading a lot about what is broken with the profession, i am encouraged by the Publish 7 updates i have read.
all of that to ask, do you think Master Combat Medic / Master Carbineer is a viable and effective PvE template? or am i barking up the wrong tree?
thank you for your time.
