Thread: Suggested Ham?
What race are you? Any medical skills?
For a medic/carbineer, I'd recommend racial minimum constitution and stamina, and 500-600ish mind secondaries. Mind is king, pools are next. Regen and efficiency are irrelevant for health and action, you can heal back your special use.
For a non-medic, the key is the second atribute for each group. Crank the strength, quickness, and focus into the five and six hundreds if you can. Sacrifice constitution, stamina, and willpower, and just realize you'll take a while to regen. You need to be able to use specials without killing yourself in 5 shots. Mind secondaries take a backseat to action, and health will probably end up somewhere in between.
I prefer to keep pools fairly even -- even though we don't use mind much for specials, a low mind pool will make you sniper-bait. If we didn't use so much action for specials, I'd let it lag behind the most-often hit health pool a bit, but we do, so I keep them even.
Edit: as an example, as a human who needs a little focus to survey, I go:
Health: 900
Strength: 550
Constitution: 400
Action: 900
Quickness: 650
Stamina: 400
Mind: 700
Focus: 500
Willpower: 400
Or something close to that. Thank goodness they haven't fixed the (lack of) human secondary maximums yet -- it's the only good thing about humans around. If I were a doc, I'd take another good hundred or two from the health and action pools and add it to the corresponding efficiency secondaries, and just buff the pools back up.

There is NO stat migration possible for an unbuffed Master Carbineer, sorry. Even with a <1,000 Quickness buff I can't spam specials totally.....
And you MUST have novice medic for those rare times you are not buffed. I played without it for about a week and OH MY GOODNESS THAT WAS HORRIBLE. I maxed my mind/focus/willpower so I could heal myself firing the occasional special. HA substats are minimized, but at one time I maxed them hoping to wear armor, but that was a joke too.
I suggest maxing Mind/Focus/Willpower then minimizing Strength/Constitution/Quickness/Stamina with the rest of the points in Health and Action. Get buffed, have food available to hit all 9 pools.....buy as many crates of Blue Milk and 400 rated Stim B's as you can find/afford.
750
and this is how I approach PvE combat
I wear full padded (pink on white! Whee!!), and use PSGs (10% eff **), and the mittigation food.
My HAM is: 600, 600, 600, 600, 600, 600, 600, 600, 600.
This way I can wear the full armor.
When I leave the helmet of, I have rather nice Mind regeneration, too.
I am not a medic.
I made myself some crates of Artisan foods, and have some Mind-Drinks (min/foc/wil) and a crate of the Action-Drink (act/qui/sta).
I have no access to Doctor Buffs readily, so usually I just use the Artisan food to buff health/constitution/willpower, and drink the Action-Drink.
If it gets rough, I pixie up, or gulp down a blue milk, or use muon when filled.
I use my E11 to put effects, then pull out my accuracy Elite and just autofire, or get my DXR6 for damage specials.
For me the HAM really is just to get the armor on. Once under the effect of doctor buffs (need to work on getting them more often) (use the Mind-Drink with those buffs), the starting ham really does not mean that much.
Greetz,
Evy.
**) When you are unhappy with how quickly your 50%eff, 3K hp PSGs break, you should try lower eff ones; they will last much longer. With full armor your PSG does not have to soak ALL the damage, that's what the armor is for. Also, you can get PSGs repaired as long as you unequip the PSG before it reaches 0 hp.
