Thread: I don't see what all the FUSS about carbines is about!

i was a carbineer my first few months of playing before i became a swordsman.


i've been toying with it this morning.


and since ive been grinding pistols on my alt (and rifles right before that before i dropped it for pistols)


i have to say.........it isn't that bad!


with a good charge shot and auto single you can hit the 2k mark pretty easy.


spd isn't so bad, med armor piercing.


it's not uber like riflemen but riflemen is mainly uber because of poor planning and bugs.


i got this feeling carbine is going to be the new flavor of the month soon..........




and why all the uproar over chargeshot......seems to be working pretty well to me.


i guess you could spam it constantly before but i seem to drop stuff pretty fast.


anyway - just my two cents.

it's fun to be back

i think in the next patch, thereare going to be changes (for the better ) to carbineer. Then people will like it.



Kinda sad though, I like being able to say ''I'm a carbineer because i want to be, and not a hologrinder''

Carbineer is only impressive once you hit master , then its like wow, did I do that. Those who are armored and buffed put up quite a fight but those that are not buffed or armored are meat. Me and a guildmate were dueling for fun last night and I got a cripplingshot in for 400 damage on him, couldnt stop laughing.

I must say I didn't note anything special when I hit master. There's no new attack, and the speed increase is very small compared to the other professions. You get the namedcrippling shot much earlier than master...


anyway, looks like carbineer's gonna be a good profession after publish 7

1228 in PvP with carbines? Gadzooks!!! my personal best was 800 and something. I also manage to pull off 400-500 mind damage with Scattershot2 in PvP, but currently my focus is PvE so i doubt my PvP accomplishments are anything special.

I love carbineer even now. I cant wate for the dizzy heh then it will be a true pvp class. But yeh i agree low level carbineer sucks bad. No speed no accuracy and no def. But once you get about 3/4 it starts to feal nice. The big thing about master is all the stat boosts you get...counter attack acc and speed. They polish us off nicely. Still need a bit more speed though, at least 15-20 imo.



I pvp quite a bit and do prety well. But im alwase buffed naturaly (im also master doc). Its not about spamming attacks its choosing the right ones. With carbineer though there are not to many heh...but its getting better. right now its all about fas2 untill you hit speed cap. Cripple is nice and all...i use to sware buy it. But use fas2 for a day everywere you would normaly use cripple and you will kill faster...Scatter is my new toy though. I pushed it off to the side for a wile and just started using it a lot to check it out. I like it so far has a lot of potential : ) wish it had another .7 damage multiplyer though...seems a bit expensive.

hmmmm, theoretically i could run an 1814dmg crippleshot on a knocked down target w/out ranged mitigation...

but the best REAL shot i've done was 1650'ish...same thing...KD w/out mitigation...so not exactly something that'll ever happen more than once a month, but i still got called an exploiter when it landed.

I have **edit** carbines, so i do **edit** damage in PvP. my PH does most of the damage.

I think the class is exctly how the DEV's intended it to be a mid field attack/support profession. Mostly (almost always) there is pvp in theed i decided to go try out carbineer in pvp. I was over so i was able to attack the tef'd reb's and whattaya know, used charge shot while anoher player was taking the hits, knocked the guy down and then used crippling shot for 921 points dammage and incaped the person, i fell out of my chair laughing because i could not believe what had just happend, considering when i fight a meatlump in cornet my HAM bar is almost 1/2 full because of the HAM costs... anyways, i was impressed with carbineer after that moment, can't wait till master!
