I've dueled many / many people.. and the only people that I have been able to beat (just by carbine skill) are noobs.

I fight the occasional tournament PvP player etc..

People that PvP have at least 80% composite, are buffed with 2.2 k (minimum) Doctor buffs, combination of Dancer/ Musician / Chef foods, ranged damage mitigation, and ultra high defenses.... Just for Defense

and other classes have either higher damage, more accessability to D.o.T. looted weapons, stun damage weapons, or just overall better damage weapons and combinations of specials...

Knockdown works consistently.. and that is about the only good thing for us in PvP.. except for the fact that it lasts 5 seconds and we don't have a reliable Dizzy effect.

We don't do Stun damage (pistoleers, rifleman)

Our Accuracy in PvP is miserable

And getting D.o.T. weapons for us is harder......

We want to be fair and balanced.. not ultra elite to get nerfed.. but on par with everyone else.

Just curious, did you also have 80% comp, buffs (both regular and entertainer), good food like the people you dueled? Did you ever consider that those with ultra high defenses got more than one combat proffesion?

And out accuracy in pvp is not miserable, just need to stun them first and that's not very hard at all with wildshot.

DoT weapons hard to get? Wow, that's a new one considering the latest carbine we got (Enhanced E11) is a DoT weapon. Got plenty of those myself and dont really consider them to be hard to get.

I've been a carbineer for several months to fit my fighter's concept... I am not a FOTM.. and if I was.. I wouldn't have cared and dropped this profession in a heartbeat.

Skills:

Im a master Swordsman / Brawler / Carbineer with the TKA meditate line..

Buffs:

I buff myself with my alt for +2700 to all stats with my Master Doctor, use a Musician and Dancer, Drink Brandy, Eat Vanarian Canape, and (depending on situation) use Muon Gold or Neutron Pixie.....wait I powerboost too...

Armor:

Most peices sliced to 85% or higher, I wear a 39% stun layered helm and chest peice with about 80% in base resists..

Specials I use as a Carbineer:

WildShot2 (stuns target - to get enemies defences down)

followed by

FullAutoArea2 (random LOW chance to stun, dizzy, blind)

then by

ChargeShot2 (Knockdown)

then followed by

ScatterShot2 or CrippleShot (damage)

Weapons I use:

I switch off between carbine usage from a dh-17 for SPEED and accuracy to a laser or elite carbine... depending on how well I know the other person's ranged damage mitigationand

The Enhanced E11 is not that great in terms of looted DoTs used for PvP, and

We have no Stun Damage type weapon...

1 thing: Riflemen get StrafeShot2 which has Better AoE damage and Speed than our BurstShot2....

Are we not supposed to be kings of the fully automatic AoE damage?

So Label me a newbie and say I know nothing about Carbines in PvP... For I am a newbie

I don't count duels with people that are newbies in their respective professions in my analysis.

I win duels.. but I lose A LOT of them to

Pikemen (Better DoTs),

Swordsman (More Damage),

Fencers (More Damage + Stun Damage),

TKAs (Faster Damage, Powerful, CONSISTENT specials),

Pistoleers (Stun Damage, Faster +ability to template into more damaging areas),

Riflemen (Stun Damage, Higher Damage, and Faster Damage)

Combat Medics (hmm we have 90% resists to every damage except poison and disease here......) <<<--- They don't need a nerf.. We just need defences.

Hmm, well it all comes down to speed really, I got +86 spd atm and can spam any special with my best elite at the cap so you might want to try and get some speed tapes (I know. expensive but well worth every million )

And I never said the Enhanced E11 had a good DoT and neither did you specify that in your original post. The thing with carbines is that it takes time to get good with them in pvp, atleast that was the case for me. I still can beat my friend that's a Rifleman/TKM when we both are buffed and armored. But that's because he lacks the experience and I die alot to riflemen in pvp most of the time.

But aside from the speed issue and the lack of a stun weapon I find carbineers to be a very good pvp proffesion.

So you are saying we are very good in comparison to an inexperienced player.. I utilize every single move and macro I can do.. I switch up my weapons to accomodate for the situations.. I am not a 1 hit 1 special spammer...

So in my terms I want us to be very good in PvP that will be "Balanced" with every other profession..

If I were to take a comparable person of my usage of skills and abilites over into another profession... I would die to that other person.

Nice productive flaming n00b post.

Thumbs up.

You might want to better your template or practice with your skills before you judge this class.

I own on a regular basis.

OK.. post what armor, buffs, weapons, and skillsets you use...

Just telling you this.. no Carbineer has ever reached a ranking in any Bloodfin tournament that I know of.

I beat a lot of people.. but I don't want to include PvP noobies in my statements... If a rifleman doesn't use HeadShot or StrafeShot or a T21 or a Jawa Ion.. I beat the Rifleman lol...

Well if I was ever to meet a pure rifleman in combat I'm pretty sure I would win, or atleast have a very good chance of winning. It's when they start stacking defenses it gets hard, when dizzy/stun/blind won't stick and they are nearly impossible to kd/posture down, then carbineers loose most of their advantages. So, who's to say a pure carbineer vs a pure rifleman isn't a balanced fight?

You can stack defenses with Carbineers aswell but our advantages are still gone when fighting another pure pvp template, something that doesn't happen to riflemen since they don't have to rely on specials like kd/dizzy/blind etc... They still keep their huge damage without any real disadvantage other than a few misses.

I have little or no problem with Carbineer at master level. Once you have it, invest in stat tapes and attach them to Ubese shirts {if you are playing a race that can wear them}. Currently, I'm able to take on up to 40+ NPC's at once with Full Area Auto 2 and level the playing field in under five minutes using a DXR6 customized with an Imperial Stock and experimented by a Master Weaponsmith. These are the stats on the shirt, in case you're wondering:

Carbine Speed: +18

Carbine Accuracy: +14

Carbine Accuracy while Moving: +17

Carbine Aiming: +21

With this shirt and a good, high damage Carbine, I can level just about anything in my path. Last night, I took on a Rebel Base with the ol' DXR6 and a good set of buffs. It took me all of 3 and a half minutes to annihilate the NPC's and 3 PC Rebel characters that were attempting to defend the base. Once you have the Dizzy on the group, go into Suppression Fire and watch them all fall down over and over.

opening with a stun shot certianly ups your odds. Following it with blind is a huge plus too. your taget is then more susceptable to being hit while less likely to hit you. After that, if you can sneak in a dizzy kd, or dizzy posture down, you've just opened them up to take massive damage from crippleshot. Legshot for when their ham cost eats through their action (great vs pistoleers) Scattershot is great too if you see their mind getting low. Although it divides the damage between the pools, it *almost* always hits some into the mind.

Pretty much everyone will have different answers for this question, which IMHO makes this a great class.
