Thread: Whats a good short ranged carbine?

if you're looking to stick with the energy damage, then an elite is a good close quarters weapon that doesn't give up the armorpiercing the way a dh17 does, but the acid damage from the drx6 is handy too.

I'm tired of playing sniper with my laser carb. Anyone got any ideas for a "short ranged" carbine? I was lookin into the DXR6 etc, any input would help, thanks

Have to agree on the nyms. Its awesome for close range. I regularly switch between my laser carbine for long range, and as they close, switch to my nyms.

For Close range i tend to use Nym's Slug Thrower if u cna get your hands on one

What is a good short ranged carbine? I have been using the EE3 but it seams that everywhere i look on these bords people suggest the DRX6. Maby on my server (Naritus) the reasourses for the DRX6 just havent been that good. What are some of your avreges for both guns (nothing Uber please. I can't afford that stuff)

I use the Slug carbine from Nym but i think the DXR6 (havnt used one in a while but i think thats how its spelled) is a good close range carbine

E11 is a real nice short range carbine. I love my EE3's but they are AP0 so no good against most armored targets.

A well-made DRX6! Beside good range mod at short range it is also acid damage which many creatures are vulnerable to.
I took my new (budget only using 30/-0.3 tissues) krayt enhanced / form-fitted stock equipped DRX6 to genosian lab and I love it. It is 420+ max dam 3.0 speed, sliced with powerup. The crazed genosians are vulnerable to acid so they go down quickly. I soloed the crazed genosian room (just after the first lab ) with 5 genosians using Burst shot 2 and was cutting them down like they were gnorts.
DRX6 is really nice, much more consistent damage than using Laser. My other gun is a Laser carbine with 591 max dam 2.6 speed (using powerup) and the DRX6 works better in genosian lab. I don't see crippling shot doing 4.5 damage but I also don't see 500 damage and instead a consisten 2-2.5 k damage and most shots hit, even at close range.
A form-fitted stock or possibly an exceptional loot stock is perfect with a DRX6.
