Thread: Carbineer CounterAttack needs fixed
Uhhhh, I like Carbineer counterattack the way it is. It is much better as a wannabe dodge rather than a lame unblockable counterattack against 80% composite armor. Wouldn't it be a little hard to follow up a shot with an unblockable counterattack if you are 64 m away and wielding a sword? I am not sure what kind of problem you are having. Please explain more. I can counter just fine.

I have +60 counterattack and I barely ever counterattack anything.I would estimate I counterattack about 5% of all attacks shot at me (or less). The only difference I noticed was after picking up novice pikeman and getting +25 block.(i readsomewhere that block is bugged and is displayed as a counterattack on the combat spam.)CoB also seems to help with counterattack and/or block. But I havent noticed any difference from the amount of shots I counterattacked precarbineer as to postcarbineer w/ +60.
I have noticed that when fighting a Master Heavy Swordsman they seem to counterattack alot of shots.
Additional comments would help to clarify this
I have one character going up Pistoleer/Smuggler and of course my Master Carbineer. I can tell you with 100% certainty that a Novice Pistoleer will dodge more than a Master Carbineer will counterattack.
I don't know which one is broken or maybe both, but I can say the cry baby Pistoleersare not as broken as they say and the Carbineers are not completely fixed either.

It does seem like the defenses run a logarithmic curve. My +24 ranged defense means people never miss me, but as soon as I equip my two aakuan rings for a total +34 Nightsisters and Nynm elite guards start missing about 20-25% of the time. I've noticed the same about counterattck. After they added defenses I picked up +60 counterattack and after about 4 hours of level 40 faction missions I hadn't countered once. Now I have +80 and I do counter every once in a while. Seems like the +80 counter makes them miss a lot more too, instead of just getting hit and shrugging it off.
I have a couple of master carbineer friends and we duel every once in awhile. That extra 25 counterattack makes a huge difference, as in going from countering about %5 of the time to close to 50%.
As far as counterattack not working like it should compared to dodge, I have +0 dodge and still dodge about 3 times as often with a pistol as I counterattack with a carbine, so yes, Something is bugged about it.
