Thread: Capping The Cripple

I'm currently a Master Carbineer, Bounty Hunter 3/4/0/0 looking to drop the BH line and take up Fencer (So I can whip out the Stun Baton after I score a Dizzyed KD and cut through that Compo like butter). FAS2 gets the job done just as well as FireKD and Confusion can, so I find it pointless to keep all those skill points used up.

My only problem is I need all the speed in the BH line to cap my cripples, and wouldn't want to lose that. So my question is what accumulation of speed attachments would I need to still keep my cripple shots, from a 3.1 carbine, at the cap.

And no, speed powerups are not an option. I can't let go of my 767 Laseror 501 Elite(after damage p-up).

tnx.

Hmmm .... 3.1 Speed Weapon, 2.5 Reload Modifier, +60 Carb speed at master, +65 with master marksman, maximum of +25 in tapes. Shouldn't be too difficult.

well then lets do the math.

  • Master Carbineer, 3.1 speed weapon

    • 3.1 * 2.5 * (100 - 60/100) = 3.1 snowballs chance in hell

  • Master Carbineer, 3.1 speed weapon, Master Marksman

    • 3.1 * 2.5 * (100 - 65/100) = 2.7 stillnot very great

  • Master Carbineer, 3.1 speed weapon, +10 in enhancements

    • 3.1 * 2.5 * (100 - 70/100) = 2.3 getting there, still not good enough

  • Master Carbineer, 3.1 speed weapon +25 in enhancements

    • 3.1 * 2.5 * (100 - 85/100) = 1.2 so close, yet so very far

  • Master Carbineer, Master Marksman, 3.1 speed weapon, +25 in enhancements

    • 3.1 * 2.5 * (100 - 90/100) = 0.7 ~ 1.0 And 140 skill points and +25 in tapes we have a winner!

Actually to cap it with Master Marksman and Master Carbineer you will only actually need +23 in tapes. Good luck though. But with Master Marksman and Master Carb, you still have enough to Master Fencer, so all should be good. Also since you are planning on using Your Stun Baton for damage, you might not worry about your damage with your carbs and use really fast ones. To apply the states and charge them with your Fencer Skills. That would leave room for Master Brawler and the ever popular lunge attacks.

Why bother capping Cripple? Even if you get it down and tight with Master Carbineer and Skill tapes, your DPS is still pretty awesome even compared to a thoroughly speed capped FAS2. I still stick with FAS in most cases because of the state effects, just because you get them dizzy, doesn't imply they stay that way.

lol the title to this thread just sounds all kinds of wrong. reminds me of my first trip to downtown LA when i was 15. I watched three guardian angels in their red berets beat the crap out of a guy in a wheelchair.

use your +25 attachments w/ a krayt/stocked (form-fitted) weapon and use tissues that get you at or near 2.7spd unsliced so you can use a damage slice AND cripplingshot at the cap...maximize your dps. cripplingshot is a huge difference from fas1 in pvp...not that i don't use both, but you don't wanna be trying to lean into a highly armored player w/out cripplingshot or scatter2.

in pve, i tend to stick w/ a plain damage sliced (3.5spd) laser carbine and let fas2 do the deal. tho if i'm using a power-up i ALWAYS use cripplingshot after i lay the states...no reason to make that PU run out any quicker.

3.1spd carb trying to "cap the cripple" is a really hard stab...i wouldn't suggest master marksman, just not worth the skillpoints, just like BHcarb isn't worth the skillpoints if you can get ahold of attachments, invest in something that can make you self-sufficient (doc), offensive (melee mastery for when you get close), defensive (stack melee/ranged defense/defense vs. xxx), devastating in pvp (*cough* CM *cough*), or just something you enjoy like CH/ranger/SL/meditate line in TKA, etc.

I have +25 Carbine Speed Attachments and have some weapons at 2.7 and higher. My solution is use a Speed/Min Powerup or FAS2. Not that powerups are a great solution, but keep them in mind.

Also, at +85 Carbine Speed with a 3.1 speed carbine, you will fire CrippleShot every 1.16 seconds. This seems pretty good to me and from what I have seen there is no rounding up to 2.0 secondsin this case, but my testing is limited and really don't care as the game will function the same either way

That is alot of skill points for +5 speed.

My personal goal is to speed cap with fullautosingle2 since the damage is good and the states are sweet. But, I have added the subtilty that I want to speed cap with a damage-sliced carbine. At master carbineer with+25 in speed tapes, you will speed cap with a 3.9 reload carbine.

Does BH Carb 4 w/Master Carbineer = 1 sec Crippleshot? Reason Im asking is because Im in the process of collecting accuracy skill tapes and now that Im about done, I was gonna get speed tapes next. But if Im already capped, I can go for the accuracy while moving instead

yes. at BH carb 4 and about 2/0/0/0 you should be capped on your Special Attacks. anything more is just exessive but always nice = ).

(BH carb 3 : BH pistol 2 : Master Carbineer : so after i Fire KD u i whip out my Geo Pistol and spam eyeshot = P)

But as of now in PvE almost no prefession has ever outdamaged me. and in PvP i can kill most people . a lot of them without ever pulling out my Geo Pistol.

Yes that is alot of Skill Points and SEA's. Capping /crippleshot would be nice to be able to do but as most carbineers already know it is no easy task. It is do-able but alot of time it isn't worth the hassle. I have +13 in tapes and that lets me cap /fullautosingle2 with my Elite and that is all i can really ask for, and up untilnow i haven't noticeda problem with PvP.
