ok here they are with the stats. Btw, found these on the sunrunner galaxy. Maybe you guys could add more/better carbines to the list.
DXR6 - 3.7 speed - 123 to 191 damage - 21.9% wound chance - Point Blank -20 @ 0m - Ideal +2 @ 22m - Max -80 @ 64m - HAM 28/45/21 - Not Sliced, No Power-up
E11 - 2.0 speed - 58 to 123 damage - 14.8% wound chance - Point Blank -40 @ 0m - Ideal +1 @ 30m - Max -80 @ 64m - HAM 29/36/17 - Not Sliced, No Power-up
DH17 Short Carbine - 2.9 speed - 57 to 137 damage - 13.6% wound chance - Point Blank -25 @ 0m - Ideal +1 @ 25m - Max -80 @ 64m - HAM 25/27/14 - Not Sliced, No Power-up
With the DXR6 I do about 600 damageregularly. With the E11 I do about 300-400 depending on the attack and the DH17 does the same amount as well. The DXR6 is more of the quick killer, but has much higher ham costs. The lower level carbines are faster, use less ham, but do less damage. All 3 are great for PvP.

How are you doing 600 dmg regularly?? With specials or just attacking?? Does the mob have acid vulnerability?
I don't get it - 600 dmg of a 191 max DXR6?
I'm doing avg 600 with my laser stocked - sliced - 108-414 @ 3.9 speed - that's with +29 @ 50 m's
So the question now comes - ummm.... yeah, what are you attacking and ummmm - yeah what are you attacking to get 600 dmg?
with a 400 ish max laser i do up to 5000 pts of damage on unarmored, low energy resistant creatures using full auto single 1. Typically it's 1000 to 3000 range. Burst shot is around 1000 to 2500 range usually.
The DXR6 is alittle higher damage then stuff found on scylla. Or at least the ones i found.
E11 sounds about the same
However teh DH17 short on my server is better, most weaponsmith are selling about 160 ish max damage with speeds around 2.5 to 2.9
lasers on my servers are about 50 to 250 ish at 3.9 also.
see the question I'm asking is what dmg is he talking about regular hits or specials.
I've pulled 5k before with the stock laser before - it's rare but I have - so the question becomes 600 dmg regular or with a special?
notice he's not even in the carbineer profession, I think - looking at his tag at the bottome - kinda late and I've been reading alot of things wrong lol.
i thought his a novice carbineer with all those skils, probably just carbine 4. With novice carbineer specials he'll be getting alot higher then 600 with dxr6, and no way in hell he'll be doing 600 without a special, so his probably using a marksman lvl special like overcharge1 or leg shot 1/2.
using 133-193, 3.7 DXR6--dmg sliced.
3.1, 46-389 laser--dmg sliced, base krayt tissue.
3.1, 134-289 elite--dmg sliced, base krayt tissue.
also 2.5, 39-316 laser, speed sliced, base krayt tissue.
2.5, 98-237 ee3, speed slice, no tissue.
i am BH/Carbineer, but i am hitting fullautosingle2 for well over 1k consistently with the elite...hit 1807 fullautosingle2 earlier...but of course...also hit the low ones.
elite rocks. very nice range, consistently high dmg. ham cost lower on all these than many, but not spectacular--just good.
I am a novice carbineer on my main server 1/0/0/1, ran out of skill points.
Also on wanderhome I am a CM/Carbineer and nearing master in both. I have been a carbineer fan since before release
But to answer your question, on weak mobs with low acid resistance I can do 600 without special attacks. Ran across a djk one day, did 600 damage with special attacks against him. It just depends. But the point of my thread, since there seems to be a feeling of we got screwed, is to point out that it's not completely that SOE messed up carbines/carbineers, but also that we have weaponsmiths that screw us and don't know what they are doing.
On wanderhome, I searched high, and I searched low, and I finally found a laser carbine with a 3.8 speed, 210-400 damage, HAM cost 28/34/28 Laser Carbine, Not Sliced, No Power-up.
Now what I have noticed is that the HAM cost numbers are based on the fact you do not use special attacks. As soon as I use legshot3 or another attack, the costs seem to double. My point is tho, that there are a few weaponsmiths out there that understand how to make guns. But I think our problem as a class lies in the producer of our weapons. Honestly.
So please, add to the list of the best carbine you have found. If you remember, please list the person that created it and what server so we all know who to get a gun from.
As a former master weaponsmith, I can tell you that the problem is not the weaponsmith. The only thing that holds the weapons back is the resources available. Every master weaponsmith on a server will pretty much make the exact same weapon if they use the same resources. The problem with the resources is that ranged weapons damage relies on the Conductivity and Overall Quality stats of the resource used. With some guns it's not a problem. Laser carbs use link steel alum and copperwhich both have fairly high conductivity and you can find it in high OQ also, which is why so many people are satisfied with the laser carbs spd/dmg. On the opposite end of the spectrum is the elite carbine. It's main resources are ditanium steel and polonium iron which have terrible conductivity valuesand doesn't allow the weaponsmith to experiment the damage up as high it he/she could. So don't blame the smith, blame the resources. ![]()
Now in regards to the stat comparison, the guns on Valcyn server seem to be comparable to what you guys have posted. My current gun of choice is a self-crafted laser carb 261/3.7.
There's no way that laser carbine (210-400/3.8) you saw wasn't either sliced, powered up, or sliced and powered up. If it was a stock laser carb, the speed on that gun would probably be down around 2.0. As a weaponsmith experiments damage up, the speed decreases at the same time. With a 3.8 speed, the original max damage was more than likely around 250-260. I should also add that even with top notch resources, I don't think we'll ever see a laser carbine over 290. If anyone know any differently, let me know. I'd be very interested in learning how to make a much better gun. I'm no longer in the business, but a good friend of mine is. ![]()
lol, ok, this will put it the right way, PISTOLEERS ARE BETTER AND ONLY USE PISTOLS.
I myself am a pistoleer thinking about droping it for carbine and this sure doesnt help lol,
the dxr6 is just to the fwg5 and the other 2 the scout is way better, and the dx2, well i'm not sure about that one, i'm not trying to say nerf on pistoleers, I mean the fwg5 is being nerfed which is the main prob so I agree with that.
but this does show that SOE needs to get it together, because the carbine is a bigger and suppose to be more powerful.
