Thread: Is my aim THAT bad?

I'm out in a group, and all heck breaks loose because people start shooting before all spawns are on the tank. So we're running around, and I swear, my targetting block is on one animal, I hit actionshot2 and all of a sudden I see the laser shoot off to a different creature, which in turn decides to agro me.... This has happened countless times, and I've /bug'ed it many times... It makes it very hard to do a large group of animals when you're just doing random groups. I admit problems like this can usually be avoided when you plan your strategy carefully, but when we need things to work the most, when situations get hairy, why do the bugs come out to play? I've been playing this game since mid-July, that's almost 5 months now... Is there anything you can do in the game that isnt broken?

-Just frustrated

Know its the dev minigame, its called "Guess what target ActionShot2 will hit" If you guess right then you might win the battle, guess wrong and you're in for a world of hurt more than likely.

I cant tell you how many times this minigame has ruined me IN PVP

Um, you *are* aware that actionshot2 is an area effect, right? Cone-style, and all. That's why you shot something other than what you targetted (you shot what you targetted, too -- might have missed, though). Also AE are everything in the special abilities line except chargeshot1; and wildshot2. Legshot3 is supposed to be, but isn't.

hmm, I wasnt... I didnt remember that being on the description, only that it was supposed to be more powerful than actionshot1..... or is it not in the description, just something we're supposed to know...
It doesnt always hit more than one.... most of the time it hits the one I want

I've also noticed this problem with cripplingshot (of it choosing a completely different target) although not as often.

its not in the description its a little bonus the monkeys in development gave us when they removed the posture change effect. they made it aoe and claimed thats what it was meant to be (no suprise since few specials work as documented).

actionshot2 will never bleed or hit the target youre aiming at, however it will piss off everything in the vicinity of what you aim at and get your group killed. useful for when there is someone in your group you hate.

if you want to bleed something use actionshot1 unless youre sure nothing else is withing 2000 miles of what youre targetting -THEN actionshot2 will mysteriously hit and bleed what you aim at.

Actionshot2 is inconsistent, true. However, I have had it bleed what I am aiming at all the time. Sometimes, if there is a group of MOBs, it will bleed multiple targets. The bleed / not bleed formula seems to be based on the number of targets in the AOE area. If there is only 1, It always bleeds my target (barring a miss, etc). If there are bunches, then its super random.

I seem to remember Actionshot 2 being AOE even back in Beta. I have been known to be wrong before but I think it has always been this way. My apologies if I am wrong in this aspect.

Finally, if you want to bleed something....use Actionshot1 AND Actionshot2. These stack. Practice learning when to fire off AS2. Actionshot 2 CAN be used without drawing everything thing. Accidents will happen but people can use BOTH and be effective.

With AS1, AS2, and legshot I can bleed kite packs of 3-5 yellow con storm troopers. This requires healing via stims, and some resting in between the kills. It is doable but the downtime does not make it an ideal grind.
