Thread: How do you spell Carbineer?!?!?!?!
Ok, i got master carbinier, and above my head its spelled like that.......But in the proffesions skills thing its spelled carbineer.....
Whats the deal? The proffesion is bugged horribly, can we even find one way to spell it?
In most (american) english dictionaries it is actually spelled two or three ways.At one time between the game and the fourms SOE was using all three! Personally, I prefer "Carbineer". The logic goes like this: "engine"is to "engineer" as "carbine" is to "carbineer".
Carabineer is also correct, but that is the European spelling.
Of course it comes from Latin. But in the 20th Century, the word carbineer comes from the Italian word Carabinieri, which literally does mean carabineer (a user of carbines).
Early 20th century Italian armiesas well as World War II Italian elite troops under Mussolini were called the Carabinieri. As far as WW2 Italian forces go, the Carabinieriwere crack troops and they were deployed asflexible assault and invasion forces when Hitler and Mussolini sent their Axis armies to conquer Southern Europe and the Balkans. Then again.... that's not saying much since the Italian army was garbage during most of World War II. The German army had to bail them out lots of times.
instead master blablabla, they should have some other neat titles, I like the 4 secondary title alot better than just plain old master carbineer.
**edit**, why can't people have opinions without getting knocked?

but soe says its Carabineer, but it says Carbineer on the skill tree, but the titles at novice/master say Carbinier
