Thread: Actionshot 1&2 question
Its my understanding that (both of?) these attacks have a knockdown potential
However I have _never_ succeeded in knocking any target down. One of the attacks always gives me 'your attack fails to change the targets posture' (Actionshot 2 I think) while the other one gives no message at all.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a known bugs?
Actionshot 1 usually causes my targets to kneel. Thats why it doesnt give you that message because it did change the targets posture. Actionshot 2 usually never changes posture.
I have never seen Actionshot 1 or 2 KD and I dont think they are intended as KD shots.
*NOTE* They are stackable tho and Actionshot 2 will hit nearby targets.
I thought action shot 1 is a action bleed? It kinda does that and action shot 2 is area effect fail knock down heh.
Actionshot1hits a single creature, causes anaction bleed and lowers the targets posture by 1 position.
Actionshot2 is a cone special, causes bleeds on targets and lowers the posture on targets by 1 position. AS2 is also very buggy and seems to act differently everytime I fire it. Sometimes it bleeds all targets hit. Sometimes it hits all in the cone but only bleeds the target. Other times it hits everything and bleeds nothing. It is a really random special. I have been a carbineer for months and I still don't understand this special. The only thing it reliably does is bleed the target and that is all I ever use it for.
In addition, posture lowering specials are on a 30 second timer. So, you can hit them for damage/bleed over and over...but you only get 1 posture down per 30 second period. If you use the special when a target is in its 30 second immune-to-posture-down-special period, you will get a message saying you failed to lower the targets posture. In addition, some pets use posture downs (like the rock beetle)and use them often so that when you go to use the special they are in their 30 second immunity period. Further, the 30 sec immunity period is per creature not per person firing. If you and I are firing on a creature and I actionshot, I start the 30 second timer. If you actionshot you will do damage/bleed and get the message you failed to lower the targets posture.
hope this helps...
