I'm just posting this so ya'll know about it and can take advantage of the devs fixing something else that has been broken for a long time.
Weapon stocks up until now have all been horrible... the best have been +40 min/max damage with a big hit to speed and HAM when putting em on a gun. Because of that, they're rarely ever used... I can almost guarantee you won't get a carbine with a stock unless you specifically ask for one. They are useful for PVP Elites though... Nevertheless, it's something that's been broken with the weaponsmith profession for a long time.
Up until now weapon stocks have added .5 or so speed to your gun... that changed with this new patch. If you do the imperial retreat missions, you have a chance of getting 3-6 'Form Fitting Weapon Stocks' from Kaja... she's the first chick you do missions for. It's random what you get, and some people get scopes or weapon barrels that are fairly worthless. BUT... if you are lucky to get the weapon stocks, they REDUCE your weapon speed by .5!!! They also have add 20-30 damage to min/max. I'm not sure the exact stats off the top of my head.
This means that you can now get a STOCKED elite carbine under 3 speed... I just got one from one of the best weaponsmiths on my server with a speed of 2.9 and a damage of 133-218... that's pre-slice and pre-powerup.
No matter what you say about the other changes in publish 6... this is a HUGE thing for any carbineer who wants to participte in PVP.
These stocks are semi-rare and you can only reset the retreat once... so I suggest trying to get some while everybody is doing the missions.
Hope this helps you guys out... just wanted to share the information!

I've bought some of these off the bazaar at 200 creds each at the recommendation of my weaponsmith. Wouldn't mind one on an elite, another on my soon to be built krayt laser.
So watch the dang bazaar, I swear that thing is like a credit dispenser.

throw one of those on a drx6 and that would be fairly powerful.

Used +47/-0.45 tissues, a standard scope with full HAM experimentation, and one of the new stocks. Got a 34% damage slice to boot. My new favorite carbine for PvE and Jedi slaying.

Yeah, sorryI didn't get a screenshot for you till tonight. Here is a link to a thread where I usually post that has info about the stocks, the new E-11 from the emperor, and two Elites that I own.
The first elite was made by one of the best weaponsmiths on my server and is about the best you could get pre-publish 6.
The second elite was just made for me yesterday with the new weapon stocks... the stats speak for themselves.

I did emperors retreat yesterday and got the form fitted stocks
one question though, were your carbines made with only these stocks as reward ingredient or alsowith the high calibre barrels? I've never been a smith, don't know much about crafting, so I don't know if those barrels shown in your link are regular or quest reward.
Could someone clear this out please?

The only barrels I know of as quest rewards are pistol and rifle projectile barrels, which are not used on any carbines.

The carbines that were in those screen shots were made with regular barrels supplied by the weaponsmith. The ones in the screen shot were just to show people what the rewards could be.
I did hear last night that the REBEL theme park may reward some people with Blaster barrels... I'm trying to get confirmation on that, if it's true they might also be usable for a future weapon.

Yeah, I took both stock and barrels to a weaponsmith, and she did tell me that the projectile barrels couldn't be used. She made a very fine carbine with those stocks though
Fair damage and HAMon an elite carbine and down to 1.4 s in speed with power up, now I might even be able touse it in PvP
