Thread: Oh my godness, my carbine speed will get me killed or at least insane.. ADVICE IS NEEDED

Hello fellow Carbineers,
I made a huge misstake yesterday. I dropped the remaining two boxes of BH-carbine and became a pure 2-4-4-4 Carbineer. If I only had known. There is no turning back since I dropped most of the Scout skills to make Commando.
I used to kill pickets and received about 500k XP per buff I used. ( about 2,5h)
After the dropp my cripplingshot is so slow that the pickets actually incapped me before I managed to destroy them all, hell even the Flamethrower shoots faster.
Do you have any advice to give me, because I don´t know what to do?
Sure I could get skill tapes but they would cost me a small fortune, is there any other tactics?
I used to use my 3.5 Laser Carbine, but it´s way to slow now, so I use a Elite instead at 2,6 speed ( I think, I´m at work right now)
For the love of the allmighty please give me some advice.......

The only advice I have is to get buffed. I can't make any headway at all in carbine unless I'm buffed. Otherwise I just die and die and die and die...
Or you could try a D18 short carbine (I think that's the name... anyway, it's the short carbine). It's speed is usually a bit faster than any other carbine. Of course the damage isn't as good, and if you're too fast you kill yourself with the special's HAM costs. (unless you're buffed)

Pickets have decent energy resist so the AP2 of laser carbines is needed.
You need to get speed sliced laser carbines. I use exclusively 2.5 speed laser carbines.

1) Get yourself a nice DH17 snubnose-The one I bought on intrepid is 78-158 (not exact but close) with 2.4 speed and lower HAM use than the elite or DX models... the thing you loose is armor piercing.
2) Bio enhance clothing, Kinetic armor, and the quickchange- If you have kept enough scout to have mask scent use it! Bioenhance clothing adding to maskscent will buy you some more time before the MOB finds you. Hotkey your armor so you can equip it quickly once the mob finds you.
3) Pikets are great but... Quekners and hurrtons are faster experience IMO.
The fight should look something like this:
Mask scent, cripple shot till they find you, actionshot2 posture change to buy you another cripple shot or two, charged shot 1 to knock them down then run while you cripple shot. If you get more than one, tab between them and actionshot them... get up and run... always try to keep one KD or Kneeling. Most times they don't even get all that close to ya... and you can substitue burstshot1 for cripple is cripple is to slow.
If anyone has a better way of doing this please let me know 
Oh... I'm currently 1,3,1,0 Carb (going for master) and 0,3,0,0 BH... this higher speed gun should make up for what you are missing from BH as I use an elite or DX2 with the same situation.

Your tatic doesnt seem to bad... I dont know if mine is any better but I just tend to shoot them till they die.. Ive been hunting quenkers since I was a novice carbineer and Ive never been killed by one... cept those savage ones... but they have no sense of humor

Hehe yes I was a MBH + carbineer, then started dropping BH to go master carbineer. Now I've dropped all BH and the carbine speed is just abysmal.
There are things you can do. I'm using fullautosingle2 now since it isn't nearly as slow as crippling shot. Get speed sliced weapons rather than damage sliced. Get speed tapes (just a +5 should make an almost noticable diff).

Time to count your credits and start buying skill tapes
+5 Carabine Speed is not that rare or expensive. Just fill your armor with those + undershirt and you get +50.
I got carb speed +125 with MBH & Tapes.

why don't you drop some of that carb tree and get BH carb back? That would be indeed the solution to your problem.
I am BH carb4 and almost a master carb. I have finished BH Carb3 at the time I had 0/1/0/1 in carb tree, and it has made a huge difference.. I say keep BH tree and drop other skills.
