I started playing 3 weeks ago, and i choose DE and carbineer as professions to work towards. I have novice both. Why do people laugh at me when i tell them. Why did one dude say sorry and tip me 10k saying your gonna need it. Have i really picked 2 of the worst (broken) profs in the game?

You have picked a perfectly valid profession to go after.

However, youwill bespending half your points on crafting so you will be marginal at PvP. The player was probbaly refering to this.

If you are happy, who cares? Enjoy the game and don't listen to others.

I agree with nova about this, I used to be a master carbineer, master weaponsmith and some swordsman skills for the extra counterattack bonus and I was still pretty good in pvp. Since then I went and picked up the BH carbine tree just to get the extra speed. I'd say a master carbineer with a crafting profession is a valid template.

You gotta admit, though, that it's funny that he picked the two most broken professions.

What are the odds?

lol Firehawk...

You just reminded me of something...

I used my holocron on my TC character this weekend. Guess what it said?

...pikeman...

I haven't used my holocron on my main character completely out of fear on what it might say...

"About the same odds as a guys holo saying carbineer, pikeman, bounty hunter.....which happened!!!!"

I'm not up on which professions are busted and which are ok. Is Pikeman busted? Also, is carbineer one of the longer ones to master? I've seen some people post stuff on here like "OMG, go the Tusken fort and kill kill kill and u can master in a weekend!" Total bull in my experience. I've been working on it since I got my Christamas holo and I'm up to 4434 now and will master this week. It seems like a long profession, but I'm not exactly a powergamer so I'm not the best judge.

I had a Force sensitive character, with 23 and a half boxes ground out.
I had a master creature handler.
I had a high lvl crafter character.
I had a Bounty Hunter that I hunted PC Jedi with.

My game is dead.

i don't know about mastering in a weekend, but i mastered carbineer pretty fast at fort tusken, but i was a master doc at teh time and could buff as soon as i died. Now it seems the fort is over crowded and you don't get much XP. I did get over 1 million XP in a day there.
