Thread: Best carbine for genosian lab?

I am using a pretty nice Laser as my all-around gun: 444 max dam 2.6 speed (with 33% max dam pup it is 591 max dam). However, Genosian creature has pretty good energy resits and most combat are at close range so I am thinking of making me a good short-range gun for use in Genosian lab. EE3 is out of the question since all the Genosian creatures have high resists to heat (asome got 95%).
Some optiosn are:
1) Using my current Laser (will miss a lot at close range)
2) DRX6 with loot stocks / Krayt
3) DH17s with loot stock / krayt (cheap but no AP)
QUestion is if it is really worth getting another gun since the Laser has such high damage and is AP3 (someone said that the extra damage of higher AP than AR was removed recently, is that true?)
I would expect a Krayt/stock enhanced DRX6 to be about 245 max dam, 2.9 speed unsliced using +30 tissued. A lucky damage slice and it will be above 300 damage, not that bad.
Acid resist is overall (if you look at all creatures) the lowest resist on Genosians. But the question is if the lower damage and AP will still get you better results. However, better accuracy at close range might make up for that very quickly.

After tabbing through the creatures, it seems the 2 lowest resists seem to be acid and heat. I would go for speed + vulnerability, especially with the quick respawn rate in the cave. The drx6 i picked up in your shop seems to do the trick for me

laser.
most everything has medium armor...so even when the resists are 40-65% to energy and only 10-40% acid/heat, the piercing (especially w/ concern to the ap0 ee3) is going to be more an issue than the resist. add in that the laser has more raw dps and it's the clear victor against all the enhanced creatures and the acklay.
now if you're just doing crazed geonosians, then yes...a dxr6 might be your better option, but they go down so quickly w/ a nice laser, i sorta find it a non-issue...and realistically, it's the enhanced creatures that are the real threats.

I agree that the high damage of the laser and AP2 is probably more important than the resists.
But my main concerns is more the accuracy. You fight at close range so accuracy is pretty bad with laser compared to DRX6 whichh has ideal range of 22 m or so.
However, not sure how much it does in reality though, Ihave tier 3 in the "accuracy" tree but have extra skill attachments for accuracy so my accuracy i pretty good. I guess I need to pay more attention to if I miss a lot or not next time I go there.

use the DRX, not the laser, the acid vulnerability is more important than the AP
(hence why rifleman use the Jawa Ion rifle vs comp which has a stun vulnerability rather than a T21 with heavy AP)

Most of the creatures in lab are not vulnerable to acid, just have lower resists.

Also note that some of the creatures have very very high heat resists!

if all your doing is lvl ing of crazed stick with Drx6 ,or Nym,...thoe i used my laser alot and gained massive exp,Geo's only things in there armour light acid vulnerable

DXR6, and get you a couple crates of powerups and Vasarian brandy. Mobs in there like to hit your mind.
