I liked my Nym Carbine... sure, the slice was just 13% damage but I liked the way it looked, I liked the way it sounded. I liked having a Nym Slugthrower.

Past tense, because repairs in this game don't work.

The repair system must be seriously bugged when I fatally flunk two thirds of all my repairs. I repair stuff when it's about 80% condition. (earlier would not make sense) I use a 96.95% repair tool.

And I fail... almost every single one I fail.

I lost my elite Carbine

I've lost loads of armor

I've lost other weapons

All this doesn't matter much though. It's only money. My Nym Slugthrower though... that was a prized possession, handed to me by the great Nym himself. I quested for that slugthrower. Loosing it (While at 800/1000 condition) did make me so angry I almost canceled my account.

So, now I wonder, as my headline asks, can I do the quest again to get a new carbine. (Which never will get repaired ever if I can get one, thus insuring maximum time of usage)

LOL, i repair stuff only when it's lower then 15%. Didn't brake a thing so far.

I dunno, I usually only repair when it says "Condition below 50%". And I've only ever broken maybe 3 out of 20 things that i've tried to fix with 98% repair tools

You should definitely not try and repair stuff when it has 80% left

I wait til it´s down at 10-20% never had a failure so far.

I was told to repair items before the got to badly degraded after I complained about loosing some pieces of armour.

I Guess my toon is nerfed or something. The devs saw me pull in way to much money as a CM/Carb (as if) and decided I needed an extra money sink

Well if I repari when it's down to almost broken, I will at least not loose much use out of it when I fail again.

have a master crafter repair for you...but things will still break. Wen i was a master ws using 99% tools i would break a gun out of about 1-10 or so avrage. Still to high in my opinion for being master but that beats what i fixed my armor at...1-5 or so. I alwase have my master crafters fix my items. But they need to do sompthing about breaking items on repair. Some of these weapons cost milions it realy sucks to loose a pvp quality kryte carbine to a bonk repair.

MWS's have a repair bonuses in addition. Use them.

My last repair was a Republic Blaster and it came out with +5% condition

Go to Nym's Stronghold on Lok and talk to Nym in his "Palace".

Everything will fall into place.

Question....,

...is that Nym Carbine really any good, or do you just want it as a trophy?

I don't know, I've never seen one, but if it actually has some practical benifit to having it that makes it better than any current carbines that are available to us, then I may have to go get one.
