Thread: those who say chargeshot was fixed and not nerfed...

Ok I will agree with that. If nerf means you arent as good now as you were before the patch I agree. The funny thing is I think we have all been basically saying the same thing but disagreeing about it for some reason....They basically "Nerfed" the Carbineer when they "Fixed" Charge shot. The reason this is the case is because they failed to "Fix" any other aspects of the Carbineer... I think we have it!

...obviously havent either played as a carbineer or tried using all carbineer specials. the reason why i and most other carbineers say we were nerfed is that they fixed something that was broken that was useful to us, but DIDNT FIX THE REST OF OUR SPECIALS. contrary to popular belief, carbineers have a dizzy, the full autos are supposed to dizzy, but dont. most of our attacks are redundant, chargeshot 2 doesnt work at all, and legshot3 has the same dmg as legshot2, just to name some of theproblems. these have been problems since release. i personally only used chargeshot in emergencies as a last ditch cause i new that it would eventually be "fixed" but i assumed that the rest of our problems would be addressed at the same time. what the devs did is like taking a gimp's crutch away. now what are we supposed to do?

They havent fixed CS 1. It still doesnt KD properly. When u use CS 1 on someone, they can still shoot at you! This is not how a KD should work. Furthermore, they fixed the timer so that it cant be spammed, but didnt fix the timer on how long amob stays down when u actually land it. Mobs still pop back up almost immediately. Therefore, they have not fixed it, they have just fixed one aspect of the many aspects that were broken. Unfortunately, they have fixed the one aspect that was helpful to us, and not the others which are a disadvantage. Thats why some of us are so pissed off.

I think you're wrong zhadi... at least in PvP when my chargeshots hit, they stay down for the full 5 seconds. And they don't shoot back.


I took out a TK Master yesterday with a chargeshot and some well placed crippleshots. He never had a chance.

it was a fix, chargeshot was bugged, and they fixed it.

"so why did they not fix the other specials?" you ask.

there are many more people playing the other combat professions then their are playing carbineer. not fixing chargeshot results in massive complaints due to the sheer number of people it would work against, fixing it would only cause complaints from carbineers, the very few carbineers

simply, fixing chargeshot was a more pertinent issue, you make not like that fact, but it is true

now that they have fixed chef, they are going to work on us and droid engineers, which i believe is a very good move

Well, with the "gimp crutch" gone, my suggestion as a master carbineer/master creature handler, is go crawl around on the ground, dragging our carbine with us, screaming "WHY!!!! WHY!!!!!!"

So is chargeshot1 useless in PvE? I've never been able to knock down anything with it but I haven't started PvP'ing.

ChargeShot1 is great, but tactics are required now that it is fixed and won't exploit a melee opponent.

BTW, after using the fixed ChargeShot1 for a decent period of time now, I love the shot. Sometimes it appears bugged and only has a 2 sec KD timer instead of 5 sec, but it works 90%+ of the time.


It is truly amazing to have two Master Carbineers with one light armor, 60% kin resist pet just OWN Rancors.
