Ok, so with all the hype and talk about AoEs, Dizzys and KDs, I'm royally confused about which shot will do what in the next publish.

So far, I use:

WildShot2: Stun Target

ScatterShot2: Hits all 3 pools well

FAS2: Hits 1 random pool very well (inflicts a state? not sure)

FAA2: AoE attack, rarely use it, but not bad (inflicts a state? not sure)

CS1: Random KD

CS2: (broken Area KD)

Legshot2: Action pool shot

ActionShot1: Action bleed (posture change?)

ActionShot2: AoE action bleed (posture change?)

CrippleShot: High Damage

There's a few more, but I mainly use the above. Could someone please go over the newspecials and list exactly what each newshot will do?I haven't yet a found a definite list amidst all the excitement and rantings.

I have the Status of the Specials all updated but I am not going to post it until Publish 7 goes live.I do not want to confuse people. You can get most of the info you want be reading the stickied post in this forum with the same name and making the assumption when something is broken that the fix I suggested was used.

WildShot1/2, CrippleShot, BurstShot1, ActionShot1, ScatterShot1/2, and LegShot2 are all unchanged.

FullAutoSingle1/2: random pool hit with an unverified 20% chance to inflict EACH state of Dizzy, Blind, and Stun. That is, you have a 20% chance of inflicting each state individually, but more than one may be inflicted upon each hit. This shot has the highest damage/second rating of any carbineer shot, until you reach the speed cap, where Crippleshot takes over.

FullAutoArea 1/2: same as FullAutoSingle1/2, but a little slower and area-of-effect. This will be huge in PVP.

BurstShot 1: strong random pool hit. Same damage/sec as CrippleShot (faster but less damage per shot). NO CHANGE.

BurstShot 2: same damage/sec as BurstShot 1, but now AOE. Very cool shot, does 33% more damage/second than FullAutoArea2.

ChargeShot1: single-target KD on a 30 second timer. NO CHANGE.

ChargeShot2: fixed area KD. Attempts a KD on all targets in a small cone in front of you. For those it succeeds against, the target is knocked down and their 30 second immunity to further KDs is started.

ActionShot1: single-target action bleed and posture-down. Will now always hit the Action pool, which might actually make it a better shot than LegShot. NO CHANGE.

ActionShot2: AOE action bleed and posture-down.

Your new strategies, in group PVP at least, will likely involve hitting FullAutoSingle2 and FullAutoArea2 to invoke a wide range of states upon your enemies. Once you see a few dizzies being applied, bust out a ChargeShot2 and watch 'em topple over. BurstShot2 will also come in handy for doing good damage to large groups of enemies.

AdmiralSpy:

Master Carbineer and the bounty carbines line will let you hit speed cap, even if you only take bounty carbines 3 (i'm not sure about 2) Because of the way speed is calculated, at master carb with no other speed mods (sea's or master marksman) you will fire your slowest specials (cripplingshot, FAA2, etc.) at the exact speed of your weapon.

So you can theoreticallyhit speed cap with just master carbineer IF you are using a carbine with a 1.0 speed. Those are your options, spend every last skill point you have dabbling for speed, or find a gun that is about 3 times faster than your average carbine (since most are in the 3.? range)

Thanks Korren, thats *exactly* what I was looking for.

I look forward to that list Novamarine - (its wise of you not to finalize it until it goes live). Keep up the great work.

Finally, one question to finish this thread off - you mentionned that FAS2 is better than Crippling Shot up until you hit the speed cap. Does Master Carbineer + BH line give you that speed cap? Or does it require additional SEAs?

And, supposing I dont have the BH line or SEAs, can this 'cap' be reached with faster weapon speeds? (PU'd, for example.)

Thanks!
