Thread: MBH needs an insight to carbineer
Be warned that a great deal of high end content will be denied to you.
I fought mid level Nightsisters last night who were 100% resistant to every damage type Carbineers have.
Thank God for BE'd pets.

One of the things I am going to push hardest for in the coming combat balance is to get us either new carbines or get a current carbine changed to be a 4th damage type. I favor electricity myself.

If you're on Dantooine, the EE3 is your new bestest buddy. Danteri, Mokks, Jantas and Kungas are either vulnerable or VERY low resists to the EE3. AP0 or not, even though its firing half as fast as my .9 speed Enhanced E11, its killing them MUCH faster when comparing them on ScatterShot2 or FullAutoSingle2.
As for a new damage type, Electricity is nice, under one HUGE condition. IF YOU CHANGE A DAMAGE TYPE ON A CARBINE, CHANGE ONE OF OUR ENERGY GUNS TO SOMETHING ELSE!! DO NOT ROB US OF HEAT OR ACID TO TO DO GIVE US A NEW DAMAGE TYPE!!

Yes, as of right now we are robbed of having one or two less damage types then the other ranged classes.
What i dont understand is, why does the Nyms SLUGTHROWER carbine do acide damage?
that makes no sense, slug throwers in star wars are guns like we have today, they shoot metal bullets, and seeing as the gun looks like the machine guns used in the dirty dozen, i cannot for the life of me understand why this gun doesnt do kinetic damage.
I think switching this to kinetic is a fair start...
another thing id like to see is the elite carbine get a distinct difference from the laser carbine, only difference now is look, and if you want to consistent damage more often because the LC minimum damage is so low.
Another thing id like to see is a cert for a bounty hunter only carbine seeing as they get thier own pistol, the LLC, commandos get their own pistol, their own flamethrower, thier own grenades and multiple rocket launchers...
It makes no sense why bounty hunters dont have thier own carbine.

My think the dev's opinion of carbineer is something to the effect of "carbineers are supposed to be state special effect attackers, and as such giving more damage types, which wouldincrease the amount of raw damage they can do, is outside the scope of their class." (This doesn't explain why pistoleers, presumably the defensive ranged class, keeps getting new and better guns and duel wield though...)
