Thread: Just started novice today

I trained the novice box and also got 0003 with it since my combat xp was capped. Just by going through the skills and mods we get (more so the skills) it seems like carbineer would be an awesome PvP profession, with the huge drawback of everyone having 70-90% resists to all of our damage types. With the combat revamp/armor nerf, we should be much better, but Riflemen have always had a stun rifle, Pistoleers just got their Geo pistols a couple months ago, why not a stun carbine? I can definitely see this porfession as a keeper after my holo-grinding is done (or if I don't unlock I'll use it for the quests, along with maybe TKM).

Check out the FAQ and other STICKY posts for "The State of Carbineer"....
It is possible to be strong in PvP and surprise people even, but it is about the hardest prof to be good at in PvP.....

you have to be sneaky, and in a group... solo PvPing as a Carbineer is pretty much suicide
that said, being a Doctor/Carbineer helps you last A LOT longer as you have the power to stop poison/disease/fire/bleeds as they start (just watch your screen messages closely though... seconds count)
