I was a Carbineer back in Nov/Dec, and dropped it when they "fixed" chargeshot 1. After that I got joined the FOTM rifleman and was really into PvP, but I think the one weapon class I really love in this game is still carbine, so Ive decided to go back, this time asBH dabbler. My main goal is to have a great PvE template, with some PvP skills for occasional use.
What I would like to know is:
1.With the chef revamp, what food combos are carbineers currently using? I plan to wean myself off of buffs, in preparation of the combat rebalance.
2. Template advice- I want all 4 BH carbine boxes, and will have the 4 tracking boxes in Ranger. Im pretty sure I'll take the full accuracy tree. This leaves me 27 points, and I cant figure out which other 2 trees or 1 tree with n.medic would be most useful. Any ideas?
Oh, and I just want to say that it's nice to see the carbineer forum as dedicated to our prof as ever, great job Nova and gang /bowdown

Well hopefully we won't have such rediculous ham costs after the revamp but currently I regularly use the following foods/spices:
Breath of Heaven, +1200 constitution, stamina, willpower for 8 minutes, which essentially means 0 ham costs during that time
Vercupti +1000 ham for 8 minutes
Neutron pixie, not sure on the exact stats +1000 health, +500 action, +200 mind for 12 mins
Those 3 in combination make a nice self buff, if you run into something out in the middle of nowhere or if you are caught overt and unbuffed, but since the first two are pretty filling, they aren't good for extended combat
for more extended fighting on easy creatures
acarragm (sp?) +380 action, quickness, stamina 30-40 mins
garrmorl +300 something health, strength, constitution 30-40 mins
vagnerian canap +700 willpoer, focus 10 minutes
These 3 in conjuntion make a good extended ham lowering, moun can also be used along with the canape if your mind is getting low
And of course for the times that you are buffed, vasarrian brandy is a must +400 mind, focus, willpower 30-40 mins

being a Master Doc, and self-buffing, I just pop a couple brandy and have a moun in reserve and I do fine in PvE
as for other foods/drinks, i just use them for PvP - Ithorian Mist, Corellian Brandy, Synthsteak, Crispic, etc...

From what I am hearing, after the rebalance HAM costs as you know them will be entirely different. They will be adding a new bar that is your "special use" bar. Using specials will drain from the new bar, and not your actual HAM. Only damage will drop your HAM. It should be pretty cool, I can't wait to try it out.
