Thread: Is this template suicide, or will I hold my own?

First off I would like to congradulate Novamarine on good work he has done so far as our correspondant. This is my first post to our forum, even though i've been a carbineer since the beginning. I'm more a lurker, than a poster.

Ok, to the question at hand , will the following template be viable in pvp, pve?

Master Rifleman
Master Carbineer (Currently with 79 speed, extra +13 accuracy while moving too)
Master Marskman
Pistoleer (0/0/4/3)

My defensive mods after this setup(correct me if im wrong) are:

Ranged Def:125, Melee Def:72, Defense vs intmidate 25, Def V Blind:50, Def V Dizzy 50, Def V Stun:50, Def V KD: 65, Def V Posture Change Up: 30, Def V Postuer Change Down 20.

For the time being i have a wide arsenal at my hands. I know i will have to keep my distance from melee.

Not sure I have heard of many Rifleman picking up Carbineer.....seems like a waste to me.

I come up with 110 Ranged Defense BTW

I know 2 guys that did that, they are pretty deadly...

In my opinion they become the area attack kings...

YOu get area state attack with carbines and area hardcore damage attacks with rifleman..

For PVP, your able to stun your target then finish him off with rifleman... nothing more to say, it ownz

For group pvp it looks alright, although having 2 elite ranged profs might be a bit much.

If you solo however, its absolutely necessary to master a brawler prof as well, otherwise you will just get knocked down and chewed up by the horde or fencers and tkms out there.

I've discovered BurstRunning to be an effective Melee mitigator.

Hit it when the first shots are fired and keep your range and you can usually tear them up before they can get their first lunge attacks in.

I would think this template would be alot of fun in pve. Area KD + Advanced strafe anyone? LOL that would be quite deadly. In pvp you will get owned hard unfortunately. No cures means a CM will tear you apart in seconds. Also toss in uber strength poison/fire weapons that you will have no chance against. However if pve is your game, why the hell not then.

There's no real way to fully counter a Combat Medic except making damned sure he pays for his insolence.

Once I get poisoned and diseased, my last goal before I hit the ground is to make damned sure the Sludge Slinger goes first.

Once you get the system message, tap a Muon and something that will buff your Mind (I like Vercupti or Vagnerian Canape with Vaserian Brandy on top of my Never-Leave-Home-Without-Them Dancer buffs.) and unleash FullAutoSingle2 on them until the Dizzy lands and ChargeShot them down.

Make them your only target regardless of what else is out there and you just might surprise yourself with the results.

I've incapped the last three Combat Medics that hurled their crap at me and dropped the DB on two of them.

The only downside on the last one was being popped by a token headshot and being DB'd by someone with a Master Musician title on.

I second that. The only reason this game has held my attention so long is that the characters are infinitely mutable. To try something new you don't have to delete and start over like most other mmorpgs.

One of the great aspects to this game is change. If you do not like your template, you are free to surrender the skills and try a new one. I say that if this template intrigues you, you should build, try it out and then report back to us your success with it.

I hate one-way games (i.e. Diablo) for the very reason I love to experiment. The ablity to change your mind is one of the huge advantages to the system used in SWG. Use it and abuse it!

This reminds me...I have been a Carbineer/Doctor for a long long time now...
