Thread: can someone explain what Action Shot 2 does for me?

It bleeds the action pool just like actionshot1. It is AoE also. The thing is I think its partially bugged because i have hit targets with this shot many times and they not get bleeds off of it. No exactly sure how it works but it does bleed on occasion.

its not really aoe, what it really does essentially is miss the target you areaiming at IF there is another target within x meters that is attackable and gives that second target the bleed.

actionshot2 is another of SOE's big f*ck-ups in the combat system as apparently they still havent figured out how to code an aoe effect with a ranged weapon yet. the only time i use actionshot2 is when there are no other targets close enough to hit other than the one im aiming at or when im confident enough to defeat any aggro adds that show up because they were hit inadvertantly.

So we were Kryat hunting today, and we were trying to lay all our bleeds down on 'em as we blasted away (before I left we took down 2 juvs, and were working on an ancient canyon kryat or whatever they are called, the group took down I think 5 or 6 through the whole night though)

I noticed a while back, that Action Shot 2 gives a little bleed icon, and *sometimes* posture down... (And I'm pretty sure it's AOE, too). Now, the bleed didn't seem to be doing anything (then again, these creatures have hundreds of thousands of HAM). But what bar does it bleed, and how much?

Also, how can I get the posture down to *stick*? It seems it sticks maybe once out of every hundred shots (I got a dragonite or whatever they are called to posture down once tonight, and that was it)

I dunno, it always worked for me, making multiple targets bleed, and forced posture change as well.

My big problem with action shot 2 is (and this may have been addressed) when fighting a group I would target one however my shot would hit another creature. This wasn't so much of a problem until I made my first attempt at the Tat Squill Caves...If anyone else has this problem, or know if it has been addressed, please post

Actually the action bleed 2 hits a random mob in the area your firing and 95% of the time its not the mob your aiming at. Best way to get killed is go shoot at a group of monsters with action shot 2, you will, almost definately not hit the one you were aiming at but as the second shot flies out of your carbine you will hit the targeted mob. So now guess what? Instead of pulling one mob you now aggrivated 2. Oh wait till you get charge shot 2, that has to be the best skill we have.. Awesome AOE knockdown shot WOOO YEAH!!

Oh wait, sorry it doesnt work. My bad.

Ypi - I dont even think you have ever used this skill. It has never made multiple targets bleed.

Well, for me on the other hand, it deals about 500 damage to everything that is hostile around me and puts a bleeder onto the thing i'm actually targeting. for me it DOES NOT aoe bleed. it does however attempt to aoe PD. it never works however. I have proved this many times because when I magicly made a horde of 17 ranoors attack each other, i tried using AS2 on one of 'em. i managed to pd my target (lucky me!) but my instant message thingy was filled with spam of "You failed to PD your target". It appeared at least 16 times i checked. I still have a screen shot of it somewhere. i know i have one of me actually making all of the rancors attk me, but i don't think i managed to take one of the PD thingy.

But again, that's what it does for me. If your 'version' AoE bleeds and AoE Posture downs correctly, then congrats. Be happy cuz your one of the few of us that can! lol
