hey guys. I use carbines with one of my alternates, and i was wondering something. I realized just how much my HAM was being sucked up, and i read a lot about how carbineers almost kill themselves.

My question. What are your stats like? I found out you don't have that bad of a hit if you have your stats in the right order.

well, I would put some stat points into the subgroup that would make the damage I receive lessen...(not sure if thats a word).... but since there isn't that subgroup, I usually put more stat points into stamina (i think its that one), or whichever is the subgroup that regenerates your action, because since the ham costs are high, you might as well put stat points into the subgroup that will regenerate it fast, right?

I think quickness is the most important, because that will reduce the HAM costs

For me....I have around 600 health, 400 strength, 400 constitution, 500 action, 400 quickness, 400 stamina, 900 health, 850 focus, 850 willpower.

I'm still in the marksman carbine levels, so that has been working decently if I'm careful (and I also have medic skills, so I can heal myself in battle ). Eventually, I'm gonna be a doctor so I can buff myself, and I'll put everything into mind. (I have such a high mind now because I've always wondered what it's like to be smart. Now I know, and it's great.).

you wanna know my stats? Here you go

Health 1000 Sub's 400/400

Action 1000 Sub's 400/400

Mind 1000 Sub's 400/400

I use foods and buffs to offset ham costs.....if you still have some laying around ryshcate is " 'da bomb" but not craftable anymore. Breath of heaven is second best and still craftable (I think) If you can't do that then there is always brandy (200-400 depending on server and chef) to all mind stats for around 30 mins that'll keep your mind up. I've heard of Gamorl which is supposed to help health and Arracagm which is supposed to help action but have yet to see any so I can't report on there effectiveness.

To answer your next question, I set this up and decided to rely solely on foods/buffs because I did some testing with higher substats and found that even with 700 on my drain stat (quickness?) there wasn't much of a difference and I just couldn't justify to myself sacrificing that much from my main damage taking stats just to drain a little bit less. Basically the way carbineer is now you either drain a lot (unbuffed) or not at all (doctor buffed)

Since we're talking about ham drains here's a funny story for you. I was in the hospital one day and a guy came in asking people to tumble for him. I took him outside and started using underhandshot (I know, itsa BH move...shoot me, it's the most draining attack i could find) on all the chubas and nunas. I was wearing composite so my subs were like 28..76...etc...(I know, I'm a true masochist..I've tried squad leader TWICE!!) and using a stocked scoped elite. The floaties over my head were 526!!!! The poor guy's mind couldn't keep up with all the heals, I think he got like 8k medic xp in about 20 or 30minutes or so.

Now that I think about it, I think the costs are based on a scale. Further testing is required...I'll have to get back to youabout that.

I just made novice carbineer and I am also a Master Doc...I've incap'd myself in the past with the HAM costs for the carbines but now with self buffing and brandy...I can spam specials with no effect on my HAM.

For those of you who aren't docs, get a doc buff or stock up on brandy and food that will increase health, stamina and constitution.

I know that Doc takes up so many pts that not a whole lot is left over for other stuff but I'll be able to Master Carbineer while keeping Master Doc, not too shabby!

Here are my stat migrations...too me 3 weeks to fine tune...now with it..i can tear apart anybody...and up to 3 guys at once if they are not defence stackers.

Health -800

Strength 800

Constituition 400

Action 800

quickness 1000

Stamina 400

Mind 400

Will power 400

Focus 400

All i do is pop 1-2 vasarian brandy....eat some anti kd or damage mitigation food. and one rhyscate (i got 11 crates left)...then neutron pixie if my health drops, muon if i fight rifle, and i never touch booster blue anymore. I can spam carbine specials to my hearts content.

The reason why i have low regen on all stats is, if i dont kill my oppoenent by the time he kills me, i don't need to regen. Putting points on regen stats is an absolute waste in pvp....you don't have the time or luxury. Putting points in huge health and action is a waste too as the carbine ham costs are about 250+ per crippling shot...and 180+ per special.

My strength and quickness are designed specifically for the food i use. You should look into what food is available on your server. food that can boost strength, quickness or focus.....do some research and tailor your migration specifically to spices and food that will compensate for your vulnerabilities.....for me...since vasarian brandy is high performance in my server, so i drop all mind stats...using the brandy to compensate for my vulnerability. Since Tatooine sunburn and rhyscate plus Breath of heaven are gone, i have to pay close attention to quickness and Strength food. Which on my server is not very popular. Hence, why my str and quickness is so high.

Dont worry about health stats....neutron pixe can compensate...its down side is bad, but with some attention you can retreat before downer. By the time the 10 minute mark is up, you should have murdered 6-7 opponents by then.

There are other ways to approach this. You can set it to high health, action (not so vital), str and quickness...and let muon gold compensate for low mind focus and willpower.

You can have low action and quickness...and let booster blue compensate for your high focus and str..but low action and quickness.

There are many many combinations, but my migration works awesome for me, at any time i can out fight anybody, without relying on buffs andspices but heavy reliance on vasarian brandy. I only take spice when i see a specific ham getting hit...if health i pop pixie..mind i pop muon.

So experiment, try different combos..like i said it took me 3 weeks of solid pvp just to fine tune....you should do the same.
