Flame War?
I say bring it.
I've played both professions at Master....Pistoleers and Carbineers are pretty even, who knows after revamp tho...
Pistoleer 'is' borked, fan shot is one of 'two' specials that work right....TWO! 1 Good special should not a profession make neh? (Give us defenses the likes of which every othe profession except Carb has! Defenses to tower the freaking heights damnit!)

This is exactly the image problem that pistoleers face. They have collectively decided that any special that is not the best, is "borked." They want specials that are useful 100% of the time. No class, carbineer included will ever be that way. Further, pistoleers have put wierd conditions on their"borked" specials. An example is healthshot3 which they have declared "borked" because it only is the best when using a fast pistol (much in the same way certain carbineer specials are only useful when using a speed-sliced carbine). Basically, they want to use slow or damage-sliced pistols AND use slow/high damage specials AND have them be the best. When this condition does not exist, they have declared thespecial"borked".
If I applied the same level of scrutiny that pistoleers do to the carbineer specials, we would only have 1 working special (fullautosingle2) and the rest would be "borked". This is also why when a carbineer picks up or plays pistoleer they do not see any problems. Carbineers are used to situationally effective specials and thus find pistoleer to be working better than even pistoleers think the class is.
Now, don't get me wrong. Pistoleer does have several truely broken specials. The problem is their strict definition of working specials (if it ain't best, it is borked - but remember, only 1 can be best).
