Thread: Suggested question for TH.
Here is a suggested question for you guys. Carbineer has the most posture changes of any profession. I would really like to see this asked and it looks like Brawler is going for the dizzy vs. creature question.
Currently hitting a target with consecutive posture down or knock down moves results in them standing up. In addition, a target that knocked down or kneeling will stand up if hit with a posture down or knock down, even if dizzy. This makes using knock downs and posture downs in groups and while lagged all but impossible. Is this an intended game mechanic and functioning correctly or is it an unaddressed bug? If it is a game mechanic, why does it still exist with the timers on these specials?
The only justifiable reason for knock down or posture down canceling as they currently do would be to prevent spamming the specials. The fact that the specials are on timers prevents this. Add in the fact that the "locks" of warcry and panic shot have been removed and there is NO REASON why posture changes should cancel each other, except for poor coding. Posture down and knock down are the only state changes that cancel when applied to a target that is already under the effect of one of those states.
Posture down and knock down should not make a kneeling or knocked down mob to immediately stand up as it currently does. This makes using the afore mentioned specials impossible if the player is lagged or in a group where someone else has a posture change.
Unless I am mistaken, a Posture Change shot will NOT stand anything back up......only a KD will do that.
But we can ask whatever.....whole thing is pointless as itonly tries to make SOE look better without them actually doing anything.....lets address things after the Combat Balance.

- Engage a creature that is easily knocked down or posture downed.
- Spam your knockdown special, the creature should return to it's feet upon being hit with the second knockdown
- Spam your posture down special, the creature should stand up after being hit with the second posture down
- Alternate between attacks
- Find an NPC that is easily knockdowned or posture downed and dizzied.
- Apply dizzy
- Repeat steps 2-4
It has been my experiance that the mob will stand up upon being hit with the second posture change.
And yes, the whole set of questions will be given the "wait for the combat balance" answer.
i didn't see an official question thread, must have missed it.
Interesting, I could have sworn posture down will make a knockdowned opponent stand up. I had trouble with this while I was doing bounty hunter on another server and would get my timing thrown off due to lag. I also have problems with it using lunge 1 and lunge 2 for melee professions.

Look UP.....its STICKY ![]()
Oh your test needs to be NOT against a creature.....they don't stay down on Dizzy/KD......![]()
Here is how I always thought posture/KD moves worked.
Lets say a chargeshot is successful and the target falls. While the target is down and you hit him with another KD shot, the target will stand up regardless of being dizzy. We all agree on that i think.
Lets says the target is KD and you hit him with a posture change shot. If you get the "you have failed to change your target's posture..." message I always thought the target would come out of KD mode and stand up. I am not sure what would've happened if the posture change was successful.
Now lets say you lead off with an action shot and your target kneels. If I was to try to posture change or KD him again and i failed, I always thought they would immediately stand up.
From what i read, it seems that you guys are saying that if a target is KD or postured down, then you can hit them with as many posture changing shots as you want and it will not make them stand. This has not been my experience, but maybe i need to pay more attention.
