Thread: Carbinees or Pistoleer!
Is thisa 'pick your poison' question?
Pistoleer: Wide Range of Damage types (Energy, Kinetic, Stun, Heat, Acid)(not as many as Rifleman), Fast (Not as fast as a Rifleman), Relatively low HAM costs (Negated by Buffs), Very Few interesting specials within the realm of "Pistoleer" (Smuggler and Bounty Hunter don't count). Vast Majority of specials don't work properly, or are vanilla. (ex: Pistol Melee Defense 1 is a melee knockdown, but Pistol Melee Defense 2 has no status associated, just slightly higher damage)
Basically, the Pistoleer is boned in terms of DPS when compared to most if not all other professions and most specials are whacked out in some way that being a "Master Pistoleer" doesn't make up for, and their low dps = little use in high end content
Carbineer: Very high HAM costs on almost all weapons, poor accuracy vs anything that rushes you (ideal ranges tend to be 30-50m with huge negatives at close or far range), VERY FEW damage types (Energy, Heat, Acid) Can lead to being locked out of high end content.
So, damned if you do, damned if you don't.
you are probably best of molding the two into one big gun and shooting yourself in the face
Pick Your Poison is kinda funny......BUT the Combat Balance will have ALL PROFS fitting this mold......just wait.....everybody is coming "back" to Carbineer..... ![]()
Or at least I hope.... ![]()
