Hi everybody,

i have been reading this Forum for quite a while now (actually since the day i
decided to become a full fledged carbiner and let the overbuged BH behind) and i'm seriously astonished about the carbines you all seem to have. I am playing on Chimaera-Europe and all Carbines i seem to find are better to be thrown than to be used as a firing weapons (ok, that comment might be a bit pathetic ). I am mostly doing PvE and as i understand it most, if any, mobs do not have any DM.

I am aware that i probably need some nice barrels, stocks and tissues to get one for myself, (oh, i did read the FAQ and it switched on some very bright lights) still though does anyone else here play on Chim and might know a Weaponsmith where one can get carbines above the average (with adv. scopes and/or adv. stocks at least) and doesnt squish me out like a lemon?

It is not like i couldn't buy 2 crates of a carbine type, sit down with a smuggler and let her slice through it. But is the potential market for carbines really that small, that none but us cares about a good carbine (and we obviously seem to be small in numbers)?

Did anyone of you ever see something like an exceptional Carbine drop as loot? I see dozens of exceptional pikes, scythes, geno-pstols and rifles (especially those) but i never came across an exceptional one of our sweeties anywhere.

I am not expecting to find something that damages out a tka, a swordswoman or elsewhere mentioned carbines with 7k(?) maxdamage, but something more than the 1.2k - 2.1k (crip-sht) damage i currently deal out, must be possible without spending millions of credits to a greedy Krayt-camper.

Would be glad to hear your experiences how you got your favorite carb and maybe even the place where i could possibly get better ones than i have currently.

Thanks for the nice carb forum, the good work of Nova and the surely above average quality of most posts here.

Gin

I don't know about Chimaera, but on Radiant the best weaponsmiths all make standard models, PvP Damage models, and custom models...

for best results, I'd find out who is a reputable weaponsmith on your server (hopefully you have a good one in your guild) and commission a custom gun.

If you supply the Tissues/Stocks/Scopes, the Weaponsmith will be far more willing to work with you, and may lower the price as well... as for damage vs. HAM cost, that depends on your play style... most Weaponsmiths have a stockpile of resources for whatever weapon you need, but don't be afraid to go get the stuff for your gun... and look for the right stats for the materials...

and then pray for a speed slice... I'm a proud owner of a speed-sliced EE3, DH17, and Elite and I love them... now I finally have a stockpile of Tissues to commission my first Krayt guns...

Try Zorg just South of Coronet.

The stats on his carbs are good. If you buy in bulk and get them sliced, get rid of the bad slices and powerup speed for a damage sliced weapon or damage for a speed slice, you will have an awesome weapon. My Zorg EE3 is 111-254 1.9 with powerup which is a nice PvE weapon.

The drawback of Zorg is that he sells out very fast so you may have to visit several times before he has decent stocks in.
