Thread: Blast Damage! What have we got?
Okay, AT-ST's, AT-AT's, and turrets are being made vulenerable to blast damage in order to allow commandoes and advantage against them. So what have we got that does blast? Anything?
I know the EE3 does heat (I keep mine because I love it's look) and the Laser Carbine does Energy (and still may be our best bet since it is Armor Peircing 2), and the DXR2 (never used this, probably spelling it wrong) does Acid. Do we have a blast weapon?
we have the dxr6...the dx2 is a pistol. basically, the dxr6 is a dx2 witha longer barrel on it (in real-world terms anyway...would probably technically be a SMG, but for swg that means carbine). as far as blast damage goes, look to grenades, rocket launchers, and one of the 2-hander weapons. sorry, i can't remember which one...a vibro-hammer? gah, that's not it i don't think..oh well, unless it got changed, either the pikeman (polearms) or swordsman (2handed swords) had a weapon with blast damage on it, and a AR2, i believe. can't remember details.
and you like the look of the ee3? good god man, that's just WRONG. =D
for looks, go witha dxr6. in fact, for anything ar1 and below without resist to acid, i'd go witha dxr6. for all else, your laser carbine. (IMO, its second on looks, too). if someone happens to have high resist to acid and energy, but not heat...well, then use the ee3 (and yes, i do have one around for just such an occasion. i've used it once so far.)
erm, i guess what i was saying really is that this change is to promote the use of the commando class, esp. by the rebels

Low end grenades like the C12 & C22 but without good special attacks you'll do pitiful damage.
A good special > good weapon. Crippling shot does 7.5x listed damage remember.
