a grenade launcher attachment on the front (optional) like a real life m16, for some sort of alternate fire mode.


THAT would make it "elite".

I would surrender all other skill points to get that. BUT if we did go that route the grenades would have to be very powerful, but they should be quite slow to attack. I'd like a flashbang so I could area stun/dizzy/blind a group I think that'd give us that aspect of infiltrator and crowed control..

What if the Elite Carbine had a.....


...lot higher Max damage and an AP2 or AP 3 rating?! And maybe an easier schematic for the smiths.


Then, I'd be a happy carbineer.

Grenades = commandos turf, even though none of them use them.


I think bumping its AP up to 2, and modifying its stats(either increase the base speed, or min/max damage) would be great. Right now they can have better min stats than any other carbine, and better max than most except laser, but they tend to be as slow as a laser then and have less AP(1 compared to 2).


An AP rating of 3 would be too much. For one, it would make the gun incredibly slow, which doesnt fit in with a carbine. Neither does a super strong gun fit the carbine image. Carbines are smaller rifles effectivly, so they wouldnt pack the punch a rifle would(IE the T21's AP 3).

they should make the elite carbine have 'carbineer' damage which nerfs everything it hits. so if you got hit with it all your armor would lose % defence, your items would lose condition, and your weapon would turn to crap, and it would break your specials. then it would be truly "elite" and it would be the most feared weapon in the game

I'll be happy with AP 1 and damage changed to kinetic .....or cold mmm


stun is too much - too much but would be oh so sweet - everybody fears stun - goes right through the composite armor - hehe I still dont get it - why don't rifleman use jawa rifles more? - especially in PvP everybody uses composite helmets and the stun goes right through

Rifleman dont need to use a stun to get through any armor, the T21 virtually ignores armor. I did tests with my friend, and armor blocks either no T21 damage or under 10(my ST helm was blocking 9 damage per master head shot for some odd reason).

There are bugs in armor still....there exist 3 locations on your body for you to take hits that are not blocked by armor....eyes, back and belt. This is refered to as "holes" and is supposed to be fixed very soon.

I'm all for improving the Elite Carbine, but giving it AP3 would be too much. Maybe giving it AP2 would be a bit better. It does need something more. The damage is poor due to the poor quality resources available that are needed to make it. I think they should make the damage spread a bit tighter. Something along the lines of 190-220. So, you aren't doing massive amounts of damage, but you'd be getting a better average hit. We shouldn't be outdamaging Riflemen, but we should be hitting faster anddo more consistent medium amounts of damage.


It does need some type of new attack type instead of "energy". An older post suggested giving it "cold" damage which would be a good change. If you give it an ability that one or more of our specials do, then you make those specials less desirable to use (once all our specials are fixed). It would also be better if they gave us our +10 carbine speed back. Then we would hit the 1.0 speed cap at Master.


I'd be happy with an Elite if it was...


Armor piercing: medium


Damage type: Cold


Speed: 3.5


Damage: 190-220

I'd pass on the damage if it were 1 second faster. I had a 3.6 speed, 84-147 Elite I had sliced down to 2.7 and further reduced by power ups to 1.8 speed. The damage I can live with, since BurstShot and CripplingShot are my best friends, along with ourspammable KDChargeShots, but the speed would make the lower damage worth living with. At those stats, my Elite carbine works like an armor piercing DH17. AP1 is fine by me as well, since the laser is our punching weapon as it was meant to be. What would really help, and would tickle me pink, would be to have the frinxing stats on the materials improve, the quality of the materials needed on Kettemoor have been pathetic thus far.

I think they should make the elite cold damage and do same min/max damage as laser or a little better, Then it wouldnt be a waste of a carb cause how many things do you see that resits cold?

The Elite Carbines that i've found on my server are 3.5 94-162. It seems the weaponsmith that made yours didn't invest enough time into the experimenting aspect. Even though the resouces needed are poor, you can still get a better one. Shop around some more. If you are more concerned with faster speeds, but keeping the AP1, then get an E11 carbine. It has around the same stats as a DH17, but has AP1.
