Thread: Laser carbine. Must Declare faction to use it?
Hi,
I'm very new to Carbines. Last night I finally got certified in the use of Laser Carbines and purchased one from a vendor. When I examined the carbine it told me I was certified to use it but when I tried to equip it I got a message something like "You must declare faction or be in a battleground before equiping this weapon". I wasn't in a battleground and I'm a covert Rebel at the moment.
I was unable to equip it after multiple attempts even after restarting SWG.
Am I missing something? Any ideas why I can't equip this weapon?

Seems to me that someone purchased a rebel laser carbine and put it on the auctions. You must be declared to use the rebel laser carbine.
Please let me know what the stats are for this Faction laser carbine?
I heard they are very bad so i have never bought one
But they must be pretty good or no one would buy one from the bazaar?

Not necessarily. Keep in mind that a Bazaar price tops out at 3k. On Scyllaa decent laser carbind 3.8spd 222 max damage would sell for around 10k. So if you had the option of a laser carbine, and you just got carbine 3orin marksman and could get one for about 7k less, you might take it despite worse stats, especially if you are new to the game and might not a)know what makes a laser carbine good or b)have 10k you can easily drop on a good weapon.

We have a bad problem on Lowca of weaponsmiths dumping weapons on the bazaar
I can almost allways find new laser carbines or any other weapon for that matter on sale for 3k or less
Thanks all.
Hmmm, it must be a rebel laser carbine then. I thought I checked before purchasing but I don't remember seeing anything signifying it as "rebel" or "imperial"only.
I just bought it off of the bazaar (used) since I'd just reached Carbines III and thought I'd try out my new cert without investing a lot of coin.
