Group XP has some wonky bugs at the moment.

Holocron (Raph Koster), posted yesterday that the Group XP bug fix was in an upcoming update.

Generally, though, there's probably someone in that group doing extreme damage and getting all the XP. Ask what everyone else is getting for XP, and if there's a way to have someone change their tactics to yield better overall XP for everyone, especially you!

As a carbineer, if you're doing action shots, that well keep you from getting much, if any xp (from what I have seen, bleed damage does NOT give XP). I'd stick with Leg shots, as unless there are other carbineers in your grp, you'll get a decent amount of damage in.

Xp is based on your damage dealt, so if you're only action shotting, you'll get close to 0 xp.

ActionShot is mainly useful because it stops the mob in its tracks, letting you get off one or more LegShots (or whatever you prefer) that does real damage. ActionShot also starts the mob bleeding, and each "bleed" costs you XP in the final tally. In addition (and I believe this is just a bug), if the last thing that takes away HAM from the mob is bleeding such that it dies, you get no XP at all for the kill, nor can you loot the corpse.

I use a pattern of Action->Leg->Leg->Action, or Action->Burst...

You get the idea. Also, don't flood the queue... you never know when an ActionShot is going to miss and release the mob to come after you!

actually, from what i have seen with bleed and feign death, the dmg of the bleed doesnt count as any real dmg by anyone, so you dont get exp if you kill something from just bleeds. i have noticed this because i would sometimes bleed something with my pistols for a total of about 1k and then hit it a few times with my sword, feign, and when the bleed finished it off, i would get all of the exp as 2 handed wpns. this is because all of the actual dmg that was dealt to the mob was from 2 handed wpns. also, if i accidentally got a normal shot or two off with my pistols, the exp i would get for that would be porportional to the amount of dmgi did withmy sword. for example: lets say i was attacking something that would give 1k exp, and i got the bleed on it, then accidentally shot it with a normal shot from my pistol for 100 dmg. then, i changed to my sword, and did a total of 400 dmg to it, and then feigned. when the monster died, i would have gotten 1/5 of the exp, which is 200, as pistol and 4/5 of the exp, which is 800, as 2 handed wpns. this is because i would have done 1/5 of the physical, non-bleed damage with pistols and 4/5 of that dmg as 2 handed wpns.

your biggest problem is that you are using an ee3 most likely.

1) you say you were team hunting so i will assume you are fighting the medium to high level mobs (and most of those have AR like the lizards and droidekas and mercs etc). the ee3 has AR0.

2) the ee3 spd/dam ratio sucks and is mediocre at best (this is worse than lack of AR. youd probably get more xp using a well made CDEF--seriously)

the ee3 is basically only good vs mobs with energy resistance that is so high that even an energy based weapon with armor peircing wont make up for the penalties (ie rarely).

if you are group hunting, your probably better off using something fast with low ham so you can spam your damage specials (no reason to use actionshot1 more than once before switching to fas1 or legshot). get yourself a fast laser carb, e11 and a dh17 snub and see if those work any better. you may also want to consider getting scattershot as damaging multiple ham bars tends to up your xp.

whatever the problem is exactly, i cant imagine a weapon that is both slow (3.0 spd) and lacking in AR is doing anything other than making your xp worse, especially if youre only getting off a few shots before the mob gets dropped.
