Well i got this carbine today after compleating Nym's quest, thought i would chare it with you.

Nym is on Lok, and the quest can be done at fairly low skill levels (elite profession).

The stats on the pic is unsliced.

nice looking gun.

even though it says you arent certed for it does it still fire for full damage?

It seems like i still hit for full damage, still have to test it more.

Looks like the stats are pretty constant. I got one last night as well and it had the EXACT same stats.

Actually, considering the cert requirement, I wonder if anything is required to use the thing. I have a friend that just started the game last night - maybe I'll let him try to use the thing to see if he can - all he has is novice carbine.

If ANYONE can use the thing, it could be a little silly.

any1 knows why im getting attacked by nym's even if I have 0 faction standing?

It does ACID damage? **edit** is the point? I want a KINETIC damage carbine, I already HAVE an acid damage one.

Iadmit the spelling error, thats what late nights do to you...

Anyway, the weapon dont seem to need any certification....it says certified NO but when i equip it i dont get the usual "you are not certified to use this weapon"

where do you start this quest at? I know on lok in nym's stronghold, but who do you have to talk to before you can start the quest.

You can talk to Nym, himself. He's in the stronghold all the way across town from the starport. He'll tell you to do a job for each of his two henchmen (I forget their names). The missions aren't hard, but they're about 7k meters from where you start, so bring a speeder. Once you're done with those, you'll get a mission from Nym, himself.

Shame its not better. Why would I do a quest for a carbine that does less damage then a well made laser carbine. When are carbineers gonna get a decent weapon?

I guess the problem is that its a generic weapon, like the once mobs drops. I guess the only reason to get it is really to have something different.

Anyway its a close range weapon, with a good speed slice it might be okey in PvP, since with the new damage mitigation rules this gun is actually better in PvP than the laser carbine.

Vs M1: 103-194 damage

Vs M2: 103-171 damage

Vs M3: 103-148 damage

(i havent considerd ar light in the calculation, i consider it broken atm)

Iguess its a bit slow..but its free and easy to get.
