Thread: Why do elite carbines suck?

a laser is much better than an elite. this doesnt make sense to me since we can be certified for laser at the 3rd level on teh skill tree and we can only get elite carbine when actually become a carbineer may experience points later. are elite carbines bugged?

Does anyone have quality resources on their server for elites. On intrepidour elites made out of junk minerals. I was still able to get mine sliced to 91-150 damage. So I would assume with good quality minerals I could maybe slice one to 110-170.

even so u should probably stick with a laser carbine. they're stats are usually around 30-220 damage, sometimes higher. this is why it just doesnt make sense why the supposed"best" carbine is so crappy.

I've heard of Laser Carbines after slicing, not counting power-ups, which have had damage ranges of 45-250. With that, the average damage per attack is about the same as the MAXIMUM damage per attack of a well-sliced Elite, not even counting the armor piercing.


Now, granted that Elites do have a slightly better average firerate, and slightly lower HAM costs, and moderately better range modifiers than the Laser carbine, but does this make up for the massive loads of damage the thing causes? I don't believe so.

I have 2 laser carbs,

1) 23-231 2.8spd
2) 23-309 4.0spd

And yes, the elite carbines suck. It seems that as weps are supposed to go up in quality, they are prenerfed, probably because there wasnt much testing with these lvls of weapons. I really hope the dev's increase their effectiveness.

i love my Elite carbine...


tryed using that laser bulky thing..and the only thing i hate is when i do full auto and and hit for 1500,,but the second one only does 150! i don't like the damage variance on laser.


elite base damage is 91-160 (sliced) and i use a speed buff powerup so its very fast. (can't remeber the speed)


with my elitei do consistant damage..500-600 legshot3...800-1000 fullauto. this way if i am attacking a mob with 1000 action..i know 2 leg shot will drop it (those numbers are base damage values that pop in the combat screen)

plus the armor rating of 2 for laser actually means you get better dmg bonus therefor more dmg

elites are another weapon that will get a LOT better when the multiple factory parts bug is fixed, they use four power handlers, and since it reqirees multiple handlers, none of them work, this affects the EE3 and DXR6 as well, so I think all three of these weps will see a huge boost when this bug is fixed.

well i prefer the elite, in sted of hitting for 30-300 damage with the laser i hit for 120-220 with the elite

With the damage mitigation coming with patch, the laser will be useless

My Laser Carbine stats are 40-270dmg with speeds in the mid 3.5s


My Elite carbines are like 106-187 or so with good speed as well.


The advantage of the Elite Carb is their good minimum damage. It give it good damage variance. The Laser Carbine has a chance of doing very low damage. So to combat that weakness you have to use min/max dmg powerups. With the elite, you dont have to worry about min/max dmg powerups and can get something else like dmg/speed, or dmg/HAM reduction powerup, etc.
