well, this is a big issue for me... will counterattack ever actually attack? or will it just remain a misnamed dodge forever. i saw nothing addressing that in this forum nor the swordsman forum (they too get counterattack).

nova, is there any news about this at all? if not, can ya ask TH about it? i'd really like it to actually counterattack.

Hehe. We get ripped off, because dodgers at least get a kickass animation with their dodge.

at best it's another broken mod... at worst it stays the way it is.

i suspect it was always meant to be a dodge but was named 'counterattack' on the carbineer to lend it some distinction from the pistoleer's dodge or that it was just sloppiness on the part of whoever is responsible for coding it in as 'counterattack' instead of dodge.

i doubt it will ever be changed as it would be considered unbalancing (i dont think that would beenough to unbalance our profession but you can be sure the devs would) to allow us a free attack everytime we dodge. also, even if the devs wanted to make us counterattack when we dodge, i doubt they could code it. ranged weapons have a set rate of fire when crafted based on experimentation and quality of resources that can be altered by powerups, slices and mods; but in order for us to get that extra attack when we dodge, the weapon would have to defy the laws of the physics (or in this case, the lawsofcoding for ranged weapons' rate of fire) that govern ranged weapons and combat.

those are just guesses, especially the latter but i think its a safe assumption since carbine ham costs have not been lowered for similar reasons.
