i think the devs have had things right with us all along, they just botched things up a little in the process. the carbineer is not the standard front line soldier as everyone thinks, thats a rifleman. if you go into the infantry inany military, they hand you a RIFLE and call you a RIFLEMAN. m16, ak47, whatever, they're rifles. the devs have reflected this in our game by giving rifleman titles like SOLDIER and gunner. if you havent noticed, carbineers have titles like: mercenary, marauder, infiltrator, and assaulter.
the devs have rifleman in the roles of sniper, heavy machine gunner, and regular rifle toting front line soldier. and thats how it should be.
in militaries, carbines are given to special units who need high mobility but still heavy firepower, in other words special forces teams: swat (i know, not military), seals, delta force, stuff like that. the devs tried to make carbineers like these units by giving us accuracy while moving mods and counterattack. the problem is the devs didnt give us enough of either, and didnt make counter attack effective enough. if the devs just fix the broken specials, give us more accuracy while moving, and make counter attack more effective or give carbineers more, then i think the carbineer profession will be right where it should be.
also anything that would add to the feel of carbineers being a special forces class would be welcome.
ideas anyone?

actually carbines aren't a special unit weapon. the US Army is switching all of its units over to the M4 Carbine in the coming years and doing away with the M16. Carbines are more for close quarters combat, such as urban environments. The M4 is very similar to an M16, it just gives up a little range and muzzel velocity for a shorter barrel and telescoping stock. The shorter weapon makes it ideal for stuff like shooting targets through a HMMWV window, and makes movement inside structures easier.
I think if the broken specials are fixed and the redundant ones tweaked, HAM cost vs damage output balanced a bit more, and a larger selection of weapons/damage types are made available, carbineer will be made perfect.

actualy the US military is going to switch over to the HK XM8, better faster sexier and a **edit** load more advanced than those old skewl m4s and m16

Those are still a loooooong way down the road. They can't get them to stop exploding in tester's faces. In the meantime DA is going with M4's.
