I have not done ANY formal testing on this so I thought I would bring it to the boards because I know how much Carbineers like to crunch the numbers.

I am curious as to whether getting over +50 on the ideal range attack mod on your gun is a waste. The reason I question it is because +50 is all that appears beside the target's head.

Any thoughts?

No. It only displays between -50 and +50, and it doesn't take everything into account.

In fact, it takes very little into account.

Aside from that, you may be at +50 on your Ideal range mod.

But not necessarily if fireing while running at a running target, at which point you'll be happy you have more than +50.

Yeah, best thing to do is to examine your weapon and find the ideal range, then just try to maintain that distance.
