Thread: Why be MC and not 4440?

I have been toying around with skill points and character combinations, and just realized (as hit myself across the forhead) that the whole 4th column of Carbineer is basically useless. You only gain in carbine accuracy while moving, and saying as how that is a broken mod here is my question...
Which would be more practical until the mod of carbine accuracy while moving is fixed:
Master Carbineer
4440 BH
Rest of points dumped into medic
or
4440 Carbineer
4440 BH
0040 Pistoleer
Rest dumped into medic or possibly MBH
Tell me what you think on this, I personally don't want to loose the title of being a master carbineer but it seems more practical to drop it for some pistol defense-

Keep in mind that the usefulness of Carbine Accuracy while Moving has neither been proved or disproved. I like to think that it works (seems to.. it's a mod like any other) so that dropping it entirely is a matter of discretion.
As a BH, yes, you can probably drop the last line, since with your added accuracy and speed, the benefits of 000x and Master Carbineer are indeed minimal. The last line adds ChargeShot1, ChargeShot2, FullAutoArea1 and FullAutoArea2 which, as a BH/Carbineer, you may not employ.
FAA2 is still a great special though.. being able to inflict good damage and great states to a large group. But ConfusionShot for you may work well, even though its single-target. Area-states and damageis a must for any PvPing support Carbineer, however.
As far as the rest of the skillpoints go, I'd put them in Medic and perhaps even Novice Brawler for Intimdate and Warcry. The pistoleer defenses are nice but won't help you much as far as PvP is concerned, so being able to cut anyone's damage in half and giving yourself 10 seconds of cool-down/prep time is really nice.

The XX4X line is much easier to drop than XXX4.....don't even consider giving up FAA2 or CS2 in exchange for BS2 and Counterattack.
Of course if you don't have any use for Cone Effect Specials, then you don't need either of those trees with BH. Not to mention you don't need the full Assault branch either......

The specials from the last line are by far my favorites. 
Nothing's greater than fullautoarea2 and chargeschot2... if you want to drop a carbineer line, drop xx4x like TA said.

As said by other... I'd drop the Insurgency lines before the Special Tactics. FullAutoArea2 and ChargeShot2 are great specials when it comes to crowd control. If you only intend on hunting single targets there will be opportunites when you willcouldgetoverwhelmed by a group out in the wilds... FAA2 and CS2 will be there to "save the bacon".

Any bh/carb combo (imho) should have mbh simply because Spray Shot is great.
A combo w/ carb should be fairly selective in what you NEED.
You don't need 4000 Carb cause you will almost (95) speed cap at 2000 Carb...
0400 is excellent b/c who wants to miss when its a close fight. But 0300 is a must cause CrippleShot Owns.
0040 is ok but i've never grown very fond of any of the moves in that tree and the pts would be better spent in 0040 pistol as far as defenses go.
0004 is one of the more essential trees cause of the acc w/ moving which is a huge bonus, specially for pvp. Plus your combo of FullAutoArea2 + ChargeShot2 is a great combo vs a group of npc's
But your a carbineer, your an underdog in the range world of fighting, its your call.
