Define "fixed", i personally consider the class fixed as long as i fight buffed as HAM-costs don't matter then. Without buffs, i consider it to still have serious issues, but i guess the CU will deal with that...
7 weeks we still can wait, i assume... *grin*

Just curious where do you get 7 weeks from? Did they says something will be posted at that time?

They announced that the expansion "Rage of the Wookies" will be released synchronoously to "Revenge of the Sith" which, as far as i know, hits cinemas on the 19th of May. Pre-orders for RotW start in early april. There are other statements of the team that the Beta-Test of RotW and CU are running synchronously and the announcement of RotW even includes the CU:
And experience the all new combat system featuring new weapons, new armor, new effects and an all new user-interface to make combat even more engaging and fun!
(See here.)
So while there's no guarantee on it, the indications are strong that we'll have the CU at the start of May.
(Somewhere i picked up the date "5th of May", but i can't reproduce, where i did so... )
(Edited to make the link clickie...

Please name me the other profs that go out and fight mid to high level content without buffs (and I mean ANY buffs of any kind)and do it easily (also throw in the ability to wear armor needed for buffs too)? Most other profs have similar HAM costs and quite honestly with hundreds of Docs on every server selling cheap buffs, why would this even be an issue?
At the same time, name me any other prof that has more working/useable Specials than Carbineer?
Yes we may lack defenses, but that is not our role in SWG.....if you want defense then go Pistoleer or TKA.

May 5th is 2 weeks before EP3 release.....and 3 weeks before that for the "digital download"/public beta is April 14th.....
Episode III Release Dates Announced
Exact information for other countries outside of the U.S. and Canada will be coming shortly, so keep checking starwars.com for full details as May 2005 approaches.
In North America, May has been the traditional release date for Star Wars films since the first movie in 1977. The North American release dates for the previous films in the Star Wars saga are:
Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope - May 25, 1977
Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back - May 21, 1980
Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi - May 25, 1983
Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace - May 19, 1999
Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones - May 16, 2002

I can agree with you, in that area everybody needs to have buffs. The problems i rather see in thelower field... in my eyes it shouldn't be necessary to have buffs to fight against stuff like spineflaps when you're not even the tank. Unfortunately even with my DH17 snubnose i can feelnoticeably (not killing me, but still...) HAM-drain when justfiring atstuff like spineflaps. My pistoleer-mate at the same time (also unbuffed) tanks the beasts and spams them with specials, while having less HAM-problems than i have.
Soi really think, right now in the current state the carbineer has some issues withthe HAM-costswith newer players. (Keep in mind, i amnot a veteran of many years... )
At the same time, name me any other prof that has more working/useable Specials than Carbineer?

These are not points i adressed in my statement. I clearly spoke about HAM-costs in unbuffed state, i fully agree that the specials of Carbineer are in much better state than some other classes (i use almost all of those i have up to now, only /legshot3 and /crippleshot currently help me little, but for the second one i expect that to changein casei manage to get hold of some goodspeed-SEAs) and i never expected to tank as carbineer. (I let my team go first... and if alone, i send in my droid, also does the job pretty well... )
Anyways, i assume that the CU will fix the "carbicide" part for the unbuffed Carbineer and as long as you have buffs, the class already nowworks quite well.
