Thread: MCarb/MBH/MMarks/Pistol 0003 vs MCarb/MDoc/Rifle 4000

I'd like some feedback regarding any experiences you've had with either of these templates (see Message Subject). I haven't had enough time to effectively experiment with either of them.

Also, is Master Doc worth the skill points or would it be better to just go with Doc 4000, and use the skill points elsewhere?

Thanks.

I am MCarb/MBH/MM/Pistol 0003 and I have to say that the amount of damage I can do with a carbine and the speed I can do it with is very impressive to me. I also like the fact that I have 2 knockdowns on different timers in underhand shot and charging shot (or whatever the carbineer one is called...I forget atm).

The thing I don't like about the template is that many of the specials granted in carbineer (like full auto area etc) are group effect. This has its uses, but its just not as useful to me as single impact specials forhunting Jedi which tends to bea 1 on 1 encounter. Maybe I just don't know how to use them effectively enough yet and I am still learning, but that is my two cents so far.

Have to say that overall I really like it though and there are some really nice carbines available out there post CU that hit hard and hit fast. I have always loved my carbines....even when they were supposedly "broken", but lots of guys go ape over Rifles the same way. Just play around with respec while its available and see which one you tend to like more.

I'm also debating what to do.

I loved Carbines before the CU, as borked as they were, and indeed I was one of only 3 carbineers on my server.

I'm probally gonna settle on MBH/MCarbineer/MMarksman/Pistols <Not sure which tree yet>

I'll have to play around with it to decide if its what I want to do, but I think I'll be happy with it.

I just want a Proton Carbine for my Transdoshan, he was born to wield one.

I was a Master Carbineer, Master Marksman and Master BH with Pistol 0/0/0/3.

I recently switched to Master Carbineer. Master BH, with Pistols 0/3/0/4.

I get no extra speed with Master Marksman box.

I get extra +30 I think on General Accuracy under the 0/3/0/4 line.

I also get a lot of extra Defenses from the pistoleer line 0/3/0/4 line.

The specials are ok...stopping shot, disarming shot and Quick Draw are the two I'm going to use the most.

Ive tried every option. I've come to this realization, speed and high dmg attacks and the occational KD is all u need.

MM/MBH/MC/Pistoleer3000. Going up grips 3 will give you and added +5 to general ranged spd which added +30 to my Mod DPS. Some think their is a spd cap, Example-My Post CU E11 mark 2 has a 1.4 speed in my hands, with a 594 Mod DPS. I add a speed PuP and it goes to .65 speed and a Mod DPS of 860. It hits hard and fast.

Dont waste SP on Stopping Shot, "Low dmg and a waste of time." The added spd bonus from grips will improve your killing ability. Dont waste attackswith Bleeds, Blinds ect... Hit-em fast and hit-em hard.

Charge shot, crippling shot and leg shot are the hardest hitting attacks. Remember when u KD hit a leg shot fast for added dmg bonus and not to KD again to soon and waste Action. Body shot will be the next best Dmg attack u will have.

Give it a try

If you refer to Infinity, this definitely is not true. I trained with several Master Carbineers before CU already... though, your name was not among my trainers.

That is definatly true, and I'm not Jihn, I'm Jorak. Myself, Clarissa Ordo and 1 other Clarrisa knew were the only MASTERCarbineersat ONE POINT, I'm not saying there were never any new ones soon after, but for a time there were only those 3. And I dropped it a lot quicker than I would've liked, only had it for about 2 weeks before becoming a Melee ho all over again.

Quite simply: Come meet me in-game, I've got the badge to prove it.

No need to meet. Jorak definitely is in the list of people who trained me.

(Actually the first one who trained me in carbineer skills...)

I trained with at least 6 different persons, some of them wore BH-tags but told me they were MC, too. (Didn't check the badges, too much work...) Your statement now cuts it down to a limited timescale, so i can't say anything definite on that any more. It might be that at that time there were only 3 MCs, though i assume that even then there were more, just not too many who used the title.

I'm Master Carbineer/ Master Doctor / Master Marksman (for more speed) and I'll say this. I have yet to lose a 1v1 fight against a normy, and even won a good amount against jedi. Ruby Blile for 1200 heals with no mind cost every 30 seconds, ~700 heals with bactashot3 and Bacta infusion is hot. With fullautoarea I feel that in larger battles my Carbineer is far more useful than my Jedi.

Of course the template does have its downsides. I think I only have around 230 Accuracy after a +25 carbine accuracy tape and +10 general ranged accuracy PSG. Can take Cripic for another 40 I think. But the difference in damage numbers isn't a ton compared to a 300ish accuracy template. Speed isn't as much as a problem because of doctors Adrenaline Boost Buff (AWESOME btw). Just you'd fire slower than a MBH/Carbineer/marksman stack that also had an adrel boost but its not a huge deal.

I'm honoured you remember me, I think I remember training you.

I think back then a lot of Bounty Hunters also dabbled in Carbineer, but the majority went for Master Pistoleer, I can honestly say I was one of very few BH's PRE-CU who used Master Carbineer as my offence profession.

I saw a few novice titles around after I dropped BH+Carbs, I lot of people got excited before the CU and wanted Carbines ahead of it.

I felt like that since i started, too... my second profession was and is Squad Leader... that actually was more of a challenge to find some trainer than carbineer...

But you can be right, the CU hype started not that long after i started playing... so, perhaps several of my carbineer trainers were in that flow.

Your right, Squad Leader before CU(And still even after really) was probally the rarest, I only knew one, Ranos, but he was only doing it to grind FS exp.

I think most people just aren't willing give up an entire profession for some support abilities, it is a lot to ask I suppose. I have great respect for Squad Leaders, they are truely team players. /tiphat
