Thread: Will this work at all?

Basically i want to be able to revive players and use mind heals as well has use very strong area heals and i also want to be master rifleman.
So will this allow me to have what i want.

Yup
. You can also use poison/disease withskill use75 and below. Won't have many damage or range modifiers (It will be almost base rating 1.05xbase) but it could be a nice compliment to your other combat abilities and you also get the added benefit of someterrain negotiation.

You'll be able to use 75 CM use poisons (as Psi said, with not much of a modifier), but you won't be able to use disease at all. The ability to apply disease is in 2xxx. For healing purposes, it's a pretty good template. You'll be able to use area stims, though with a smaller range than if you had the distance line.

Depends on the rest of your template, but as long as you are in a group the KD and SNARE Specials will be the best to get, which is 0440.

Thanks! This will be my final respec! I cannot lose too many skills so I'll kind of be a jack-of-all trades. Hopefully this bit of combat will be enough for me to enjoy other aspects of the game that master merchant master tailor and dancer 0040 has never been able to do before.

If I go carbineer 0440 will that get me anything? Will I be able to do some groups quests on Kashyyyk?

Carbineer 0440 will get you LOTS!!
it will get you:
Charge Shot - a great Knock Down
Leg Shot - a powerful Special
Crippling Shot - a way to slow your opponents
something like +10 or +20 to your Carbine Accuracy
again +10 or +20 to your General Ranged Accuracy (i am at work and cannot check exact numbers)
these are hands down my PERSONAL favorite shots from Carbineer
you should be very happy with 0440
the only other template i would look at would be 4400 for the increase in speed, but you lose your KD...not good

I even dare to say, with 0440 you can do some fighting yourself, despite having to hang low on the armour department...

Instead of starting a new post about the same thing, and before my respec period is up, Igoing to add my question to this post. To go along with my MCH, I've gone with carbineer. I'm currently 4/0/3/3. Is this a good mix? With the first tree giving speed reductions, the third tree giving the KD shots and the last tree giving carbine rate of fire armor penalty reductions, I thought it was a good combination. Am I correct? Also, I won't be getting anymore boxes in this profession, because all my other skill points are used up in surveying and merchant. (But I would be able to move the boxes around, if need be)

Let's see.
4xxx gives you scatter shot and full auto area. The first currently is rather worthless, time will tell if it changes. The second, only makes sense if your animals can create enough agro that you're not suddenly the center of destruction... which i currently consider unlikely. The carbine speed is nice, but speed is not the absolutely deciding thing any more, as it formerly was. The only real reason for this line would be the battle armour movement mitigation... but as you're going MCH and will have the mitigation anyways, I would consider to reduce this line.
The x4xx line you decided to not take... actually that's where i would move my points to. Leg shot for heaps of damage, cripple shot for snaring, so the enemy takes ages to get to you (also giving your animals more time to hit the target...) and improved rapid fire, which we can just hope that it'll also be converted to a valuable ability. A good ammount of accuracy, much of it general and not carbine, allows you to hit the target and even boosts your damage.
xx3x, the way you wrote it, will give you the improved charge shot and suppression fire. Charge shot is great and if TAFirehawk just stated that suppression fire will be fixed and then italso will be a great tool for crowd control. Along with a bit of defences, this line sure has it's value.
Last not least, xxx3. This one gives you Blind and Dizzy recovery and a bit more of carbine defence. The recoveries, while looking nice in theory, seems a bit unnecessary to me at the moment... the only enemy which put such a state on me yet was a nightsister and then the states didn't seem to make a big difference. Carbine defence drops off as soon as you dare to touch any other weapon, so the general defence is much more valuable.
So my advise would be x44x, which according to your available skillpoints would either be 2440 or 1441.
